Because of it's foreboding exterior, I walked in here expecting the worst. I was immediately greeted by the bartender and a few nearby patrons as soon as I walked up to the bar, and I quickly realized you can't judge this book by it's cover! I was introduced to some of the regulars here, and already made plans to go back the next day! I am so glad I ventured in!
My experience was about the same as Heather's. Only thing is I wasn't surprised. The place looked like it belonged in West Virginia from the outside, and made me feel like I was in West Virginia from the inside. In West Virginia, most every bar is just like this, including the friendliness of the patrons. Until about 2am when the fights start to break out, anyway. WV prices too. $3 imports( slim pickins). Fun, dive bar! Casual atmosphere, free pool! The owner is there bartending most of the time and is friendly. We had a great time. Plus he rehabs appliances. Plus a cat was in the bar.
