Before the change in ownership, loved coming here for lunch with coworkers. Now that it is Hydeout, every individual ticket is slapped with gratuity. Doesn't matter the size of your party. On top of that, you won't notice it unless you carefully look at your bill because there's the space to write in a tip as well. 18% automatically added is unacceptable!Further, menu items are presented but aren't actually available during the week. It specifies times but not days. You spent so much money to redo the menus, you should do them correctly. The food has remained great, but there's too many options around to put up with pettiness.Laurie, you are missed.

We waited and waited and then had to leave before anyone took our order. Somehow they overlooked us and we could not get their attention.

Showed up the day the name was changing. I'll give a review when I return and actually eat. I went for the short rib grilled cheese. However, it is no longer on the menu

The food is phenomenally delicious. The sausage in the Italian Sausage and Peppers is, I believe, the best I've ever had. It was fragrant with herbs and spices before I even got it into my mouth. We shared, so I also had the Crispy Chicken Thighs. They're boneless and breaded, and again fragrant with subtle flavors, and juicy and just delicious. The Potato Pancakes as the appetizer were small and crispy and subtly oniony. They were great with and without cheese and bacon loading. I was amazed by the high quality at the very reasonable prices in a fairly plain tavern. Don't hesitate!

Clearly underrated, with remarkably excellent food at prices that are hard to believe at a downtown location. We had the loaded potato cakes ($10, try half plain), crispy chicken thighs ($10, so juicy & balanced), the Italian sausage & peppers ($11, FLAVOR!), and 2 alcoholic drinks each ($5 per drink) ($55 w/ tax). If I have an excuse to revisit, I will. I eyeballed the chicken parm & Kale salad going by looking ?.

I have never had a bad meal here. The pork belly burnt ends are like nothing you’ve ever tasted. However, everything I’ve tried has been phenomenal. I highly recommend.

We had to seat ourselves and upon that a roach greeted us before the waiter/sever was able to. Lastly sitting looking they were serving drinks from 2 liters from a grocery store! Would leave 0 stars!!

Came here after another location was packed. Ordered their French Toast on the brunch menu with cinnamon, and it was really good. If you got a sweet tooth would recommend this. Washed it down with a couple of Guava High Noons.

I didn't expect much from the food here, but I was floored by how good it was. I got the philly steak and tavern fries, and both were so crispy and tasty! The rum + coke was quite strong on the rum half but I liked it. It was pretty empty when my husband and I went on a Tuesday evening, so it was nice being able to chill and chat with good food.

I am always pleasantly surprised by the food quality at the Downtown tavern! Everything I have ordered there, from the meatballs to the subs and pasta, has been excellent! Also, the burnt ends were something I'll go back to order. On top of all this, the owners Kevin and Lori (a.k.a. Lola) are friendly and caring. This place is a diamond in the rough.

Really incredible food, nice staff and service. We weren't super impressed with the cocktails we got (ordered an Old Fashioned and a pink lemonade martini, they felt weak and I think the bartender used club soda in the old fashioned which I found odd), but the beer was good. Land Grant on draft. Prices are great, food is really amazing. We will certainly be back.
