Me and my hubby tried this place last Sunday because we heard from a friend that it was really good and I didn't feel like cooking. When we walked in it didn't smell so good and people were glaring at us. It had to be about maybe 2pm and all they had left was pork chops, macaroni and cheese, yams, green beans, and cornbread. Now we originally wanted something different but we also didn't feel like driving around so we both got pork chop meals. Mine was one smothered and one without and my hubby got two plain. The food was disappointing and nasty! The pork chops were chewy as if not cooked all the way. The seasoning was bland on EVERYTHING! The macaroni was not cheesy at all, all the cheese was at the top. Now when you make yams you're supposed to use vanilla abstract, nut meg, Brown sugar, sugar, and butter! The yams tasted like someone put enough sugar on them to taste sweet but no soul at all! We spent $30 and it was not worth it at all! I don't know how this place has a 4.4 rating! NO! NO! NO!

I actually googled highest rated fried chicken in Columbus and Madison's came up. I looked at the online menu and it stated that they serve chicken. I got there and they only serve fried chicken wings. So disappointing! I had seen that someone raved on the Salisbury steak so that's what I ordered along with mac-n-cheese and collard greens thinking that this is soul food so, these greens have got to be good. I was wrong. Everything was so very bland with little to no taste. The only thing good about the steak was the gravy and even that was tasteless. The hospitality was good which is why I gave 2 stars

Hit or miss some days......... Depends who was on the kitchen cooking that day,,,, always look for the older ladies in the kitchen, and the gentleman on the register.. the original cast,,,,,, not the new younger "elect", some days she only has wings, some days she'll serve cold french fries as a side.....Been eating here since I was a little boy, 15-20years ago.... I don't like the new changes

When I opened my meal… i am like “ Oh Lawd, have mercy “ that food looked so good…GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY… as DL hughley use to say.. Five stars for the amount of food they give for under 15.00 dollars is reasonable to me..: and for the taste… picture below ?

is this place still open? went and there was a sign that said kitchen closed. not sure if that was for the day or if it was permanent
They have good food especially the pork chops smothered in gravy I also enjoy the customer service
This is the place to go if you want legitimate & delicious soul food. The fried fish & Salisbury steak is outstanding.
