I highly recommend this tour. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We got to see the distillery process. Samples were ample enough to get a good taste of the product. More samples available in the bottle shop.

Out of the handful of distillery tours we have done, Middle West has been our favorite. We were lucky enough to have the owner Ryan Lang do our tour (the first he had done in 5 years due to a scheduling error that we didn't complain about). He was incredibly informative and his care for the craft was evident. Great conversation, impressive products (I was unaware vodka could actually taste good), and overall awesome venue. Their whiskey has been my favorite out of Ohio thus far. They seem to have a good thing going and I am excited to see their growth.

Decided to stop on our way to Louisville, KY 12/27/24. I don't think the guy at the bottle shop could of been less interested in his job or waiting on customers than this dude was. We asked a couple of questions and it seemed like we were bothering him or something. We put back the items that we planned on purchasing and left. I don't think that we will bother stopping again and I suggest you do the same and skip this one.

Always been a fan of their bourbon and rye, but the cask strength bourbon that I think is new is absolutely amazing. Buying 2 more tomorrow to make sure I have reserve.

Best local distillery tour I’ve been on! Our guide knew SO MUCH and it was so fun!!!!! We really learned a lot. I also had the best tasting vodka… like wow. Thank you!!!

Our first stop in was disappointing because it was early in the day and only the bottle shop was open. The employee working didn't offer the option to sample and told us tasting wasn't available until the bar opened.
We stopped back today and it was a whole different experience. We had a nice flight at the bar and got to try some of their experiments. Then when we came back to the bottle shop later after walking around we got to sample a couple things we didn't try during our flight and the employee was super friendly and helpful.

Tried the ported bourbon flight and really enjoyed all 3. I recommend their chicken wings. The meat fell off the bones and the sauce was great.
I had an old fashion and a burger, and both were fantastic.

Okay guys. This place blew me away! We did the 2 bourbon/whisky flights on the menu. We were impressed with both. We also had the barrel aged old fashioned which was a nice orange forward drink. We had the winter harvest salad and a walleye appetizer that were both amazing. The pork was THE best pork dish I've ever had (and if you follow me you know I travel a lot and love to eat.) We had apple fritters for dessert and espresso martinis and both were top notch. Our bartender Napoleon gave the absolute best service with extra touches that made our night even more special. We will 100% be back and I'm only sorry we didn't find this place sooner! Hands down my favorite distillery/restaurant in Columbus. Move over Watershed ?

This review is low for one reason-online ordering process and communication sucks! My husband ordered two bottles for a good friend ($200 order) and was informed to allow 3 weeks. Middle West uses a fullfillment company, Speakeasy, for their online ordering and shipping. They are based in Cali. Monday, the week of the delivery anticipation, he received an email to be looking for timeframe of day and time window of when to expect delivery. That was the only correspondence before a delivery was attempted! Friday 10am he received an email someone attempted delivery! Yet we weren’t notified to be certain someone 21+ would be able to receive the delivery! When he attempted to find out how to get it re-delivered, not only was there NO apology or acknowledgment from Middle West, the man we spoke to was almost reflecting “put out” attitude.Re delivery was such a debacle, so decided to just locate the delivery company, Mercury Delivery Services (they were attentive and professional and apologised even though they were not involved in the lack of communication) and drove to South Columbus location to retrieve the package.We do not drink any alcohol, but I will never buy their product as gifts because of the lack of care or ownership of the issue. If you reside in Ohio and want to give spirits for gifts, support 451Spirits and go visit the Distillery and purchase in person.
