You can never go wrong when choosing the Northstar Cafe. Exceptional food and service.
We came here upon recommendation from a friend. The mint iced coffee and homemade ginger ale were to die for! Food was delicious too.
If I could leave more stars I would. My child was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and we haven’t had the easiest time finding restaurants that have reasonable accommodations. The staff was so patient and kind while I asked our list of questions to ensure they eat safely. Our server even went to the back to receive confirmation from the back of the house on all ingredients. Thankful to have found a Crohn’s friendly restaurant!
North Star is always solid and this location is no exception. Has a good look and a good vibe, with big windows that make people watching fun.
Service was great, everybody who worked there was attentive and nice.
Food was also good. Got the breakfast burrito and the turkey hash.
Enjoyed a chopped salad and ginger ale, delicious!
We loved our visit here. My wife said it was the best breakfast burrito she had ever had. We will be back!

My favorite thing in North Star - cookies. They are excellent , usually. Chevy, delicious and unique in a way. Today I had the worse cookies ever -did you change the recipe? Hired a new unexperienced baker? I will never come again.

Went for the free Northstar Burger for the first time in 2015 on Earthday. I was surprised that a veggie burger could taste so good. It didn't even taste like I wasn't eating meat. Just a tad pricey for what you're getting though.
Edit after becoming aware of my gluten/dairy intolerance:
I stopped in here because the Northstar menu reports that the Northstar burger can be made with a wheat-free bun to make the Northstar burger gluten free. Only to realize, that there is a gluten ingredient in the mix for the burger itself. False advertising and potential to wreck someones gut due to the misleading advertising. Looks like I'll never be coming here again.
Dietary restrictions: The dietary restrictions on the menu are a lie. Be careful, I was advised that the Northstar burger does have an ingredient in it that includes gluten.

I live in the neighborhood and stop in once in awhile for a drink and food. The orange martini and the Buddha bowl are my favorite menu items.
I’ve never had a bad experience. Everyone is so polite, friendly and professional. They are prompt and work as a team.
It’s refreshing to have a great business in the neighborhood that cares about its patrons and employees. The employees all seem to get along with another and are happy at their job.
Support local businesses who understand how to treat employees AND customers.
