Had the BEST breakfast burrito that I've ever had! And the potatoes have these little crunch edges that are to die for. Very cool atmosphere.

Chill vibe, good breakfast sandwiches. Best chain in Ohio they say. My friend worked here for a while and she still highly recommends it snd eats there regularly.

Fast, friendly, super clean and the food was flavorful. Didn’t even need salt and pepper which isn’t always the case with health conscious spots. I got the turkey and sweet potato dish. If you’re deciding on if you should get the green smoothie or not.. do it!!

Not a bad choice by any means, but it's pretty far from great. It's not a normal breakfast place, so keep that in mind. The service was fine in that everyone was friendly, but in an environment where you order at a counter, get your own coffee, and seat yourself, I'm not sure what service there really was. They were quick at cleaning things up I suppose. One of our dishes came out about 10 minutes earlier than the other, which was pretty weird, especially for a breakfast place where none of it is cooked for very long. The weirdest thing was the more basic breakfast was what was delayed. The food itself was okay, but nothing special, especially for the price. I prefer my breakfast to nice and simple. Good quality ingredients cooked well. This is not that. This is trying to be fancy in order to charge high prices and make the customer feel like they're getting a good deal.I only went once, so I don't know if my experience was typical of their regular experience, but my experience was not really great.

The best breakfast in the area! You have to come to this place if you are in town!!! Amazing healthy choices and super yummy, vibrant ambient & great service! Special thanks to Jake at the bar who patiently addressed our curious question abit the place, professionally making all the healthy blends for everyone in the restaurants and made our stay so enjoyable! We are definitely going to be back again!

Friendly staff, casual place, great fresh OJ OJ is fresh squeezed and nice and tasty, and some pulp Staff were very friendly, they seemed over whelmed You order at a register, sit down, and they bring you your food Mushroom fritta was tasty, good earthy mushroom taste but the cheese had set really quickly, there is a LOT of cheese, so it was chewy and needed a knife to cut through by the end

Great patio. Met up with a few friends for an early dinner and were in and out in under an hour.I had an oatmeal rasin cookie I won't soon forget. Yum. And a margharita pizza that was divine. Salads looked great, too.Ample and affordable parking in the area. Could see this might be a challenge to find an open spot at times. So many options in the area!

Delicious! With decent prices. And a much more comfortable atmosphere than I would expect from a place with counter service.

It's hard to find a place to sit down, have a cup of coffee and use the bathroom in short north but this place provides all that and more. I was so happy to get in out of the rain that I decided to stay for lunch and I'm glad I did. The food and the coffee was fabulous!

Great food and better service! I prefer the bar with full service. The Pimento Burger was fantastic along with the fries.

The perfect cafe cant even start to describe this place from food to service this place delivered on every note. Big thanks to the management who generously changed our orders after we misread the menus, no extra charge, stellar hospitality, couldnt be more grateful!!!

I frequent Northstar Cafes. I especially like this Short North location. They have good bartenders, good counter staff, nice healthy salads and make a mean breakfast hash. Today I ran into this Northstar Cafe to grab a carrot cake to go. Ever since I first had one of these jarred carrot cakes- lately, to my scales dismay, I have been obsessed with it. The texture of the cake is so moist, but still nicely textured and fluffy, which is hard combination to achieve. They layer it with three layers cake with icing in between layers and top it with candied pecans, serve it in a jar. Fun. Honestly, the icing is different from any other carrot cake I have had. Dare I say say the icing is actually perfection. Not too cream cheesy and with a little bit of a butter cream flavor. Omg. Obsessed. What I am NOT obsessed with is how NS sort of forces you to tip even on simple take out. I have a lot to say about places that force tipping on takeout or force tipping on meals before you consume them.... But I will spare you and just say I am not a fan of Northstar Cafe doing this (which it does). I went to pay and the screen wasnt progressing. I said "why isnt it closing out?". The guy actually said "well, you need to leave a tip first". Cue my blood pressure raising. Not at the guy, but at the NS business model. So I left a dollar tip as I didnt want to make a scene for a dumb payment policy that he literally had no control over. I mean what justified a tip for this transaction? He literally only needed to turn around and hand me as it's in a JAR. Annoying. Whats sad is if they didn't force me to do this I probably would have left a bigger tip as I know people that work there and know they tip share. Oh well you cant fix stupid and this policy is stupid-- but the food is good and that cake. Is super!

The ricotta cheese pancakes were to die for! I've never tasted something that unique - definitely a must try! The environment was nice - I went in the winter time so it was a little crowded but I'm sure in the warmer months the wait won't be as long. Regardless it's worth the wait! I'll be back
