Spicy Cup Bakery Reviews
In a series of stores on 161, popular with ethnic groups and fantastic service and pastries.Hard working and open long hours.
Make sure you’re prepared with cash on hand. I’ve been to Spicy Cup several times and paid with a card then went and they told me it was cash only after I ordered. It’s definitely worth the trip they make and have amazing food and pastries.
Excellent food, great service. The best tamales I've had since I was a kid in the Southwest and the chilaquiles was fantastic. Alas, no churros (next time!) so we tried a few of the pastries and none disappointed. We were lucky to receive a hot, fresh loaf of french bread; it did not make it home - we couldn't help ourselves.

Spicy Cup Bakery offers a mixed selection of baked goods, with some items being well-received and others not as much. While the bakery's sweet breads and pastries, such as croissants and conchas, are praised, the quality of donuts and muffins can be inconsistent. The breakfast torta is considered an acceptable option, though some find it to be pricey. The bakery's desserts, like tres leches cake and flan, have been hit-or-miss, and the lack of certain items, such as churros, has disappointed some customers.
Despite these drawbacks, the bakery's friendly and helpful staff create a pleasant experience for customers. The tamales, in particular, are praised as being amazing, and the flan is also well-received, even if it is served in a disposable cup. While the atmosphere may be lacking, the prices are considered low. Customers are encouraged to ask for recommendations, as the lunch selections are said to be great.
