Place was nice inside, other than the dusty window ledges in the front of the restaurant, our waiter was great....but the food was very bland, chicken had no flavor to it, biscuits were salty, and mac- n- cheese not good either. Definitely won't be going back, to me it was a waste of money due to the food being that bad, definitely not southern tasting meals!

I’m a longtime fan of Tupelo Honey in Myrtle Beach, SC — it’s a must-visit for me every year. Since I live in Cleveland, I was excited to take a 2-hour drive to the Columbus location, hoping for the same great experience.
Atmosphere & Service
The restaurant was very clean and well-kept. We waited about 10 minutes for a booth, even though some were already clean. Everyone was seated in one compact area, which made it quite noisy — but it was the sound of people enjoying themselves, so I didn’t mind too much. They also have outdoor seating available, and I noticed some guests dining with their dogs, which was nice to see. Our waitress took a while to acknowledge us, but once we ordered, our food came out fairly quickly thanks to other servers.
Food
My absolute favorite at Tupelo Honey is their biscuits with blueberry compote — they hold a lot of nostalgia for me from my first visit with my kids. Sadly, this time the biscuits were disappointing: a bit dry, topped with baked-in salt and pepper that made them way too salty. In my opinion, the added salt was unnecessary.
The fried green tomatoes and grits were beautifully presented and just as delicious as I remember — definitely the highlight of my meal. Had leftovers to take home for the next day and it was just as good. My husband ordered the dusted fried chicken with potato wedges, but unfortunately, both were very disappointing. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, and the potato wedges were so hard they were more like potato skins. He wasn’t impressed, and since this was his first visit, he doesn’t plan to make the 2-hour drive again.
I also tried the peach compote, which was amazing, and the blueberry compote was still good — just different from the Myrtle Beach location.
Overall
The grits saved the meal for me, but between the overly salty biscuits, my husband’s dry chicken, and the long drive, I’m not sure this location is worth the trip. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was spotless, the outdoor seating with dogs was a nice touch, and the atmosphere was lively for a Sunday afternoon — but I’ll probably stick to visiting Tupelo Honey in Myrtle Beach for now.

I've had this place bookmarked on my Google maps for a while after several mentions of it on Columbus social media pages. Finally was nearby and happened to think about it. So glad we stopped in. No wait on a Friday night at 530. Quick kitchen, average service and really good food.

Absolutely deserving of full 5 stars, the ambience is great, and the food is AMAZING! I have a severe nut allergy and they were very accommodating and careful of any contamination. LOVE!

Tupelo Honey was quite a nice surprise. It has a very brunch like atmosphere and is Southern through and through. I was BEYOND pleased with the appetizer of fries green tomatoes. To my surprise, it came over their to die for grits. Wow, everything on that plate was moth watering. I got the shrimp and grits which they are very well known for. The sauce was rich and super tasty. I was very happy with the spicing and quality of the dish. The meatloaf was kind of Asian tasting as it had a soy sauce like glaze. It was very filling and ate heavy. The sides were on point and extremely good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ashville Mac & Cheese was something really standout-special, but they went and changed the recipe earlier this year, so it's no better than other places now 😒 Biscuits still pretty good, and super service. Don't fix what ain't broke, folks!

I have been here a few times & it never disappointed. I am a big fan of brunch food & I loved their shrimp & grits! The fried green tomatoes were on point ! I would like to try their chicken next time that I come in & I recently seen that the website advocates the proceeds for the biscuits goes toward employees that are in need! This is a type of business that I want to support, an organization that has amazing food, great customer service, not only that gives but gives to those that provides the yummy food & great service. Awesome job Tupelo, I will be in soon!!

Surprised by all the 5 star reviews. Just left here and it took approximately 3 hours from time our group arrived until when our bills were paid (did have a reservation,). Service was lacking. Chicken tenders were way overcooked and dry. Biscuits were also super dry. The best part of the dinner was the blueberry jam.

As soon as we were walking up we instantly got ugly stares and rude looks. Did not get to sit down. We stood in the restaurant for about 10-15 minutes with my 3 year old daughter and politely asked if we could be helped and seated as no one had even acknowledged us, we were then told by the guys serving orders at the bar that there were no seats and that EVERY table needed to be cleaned lol. Lies. Those ta lea were literally ready for someone to be seated it definitely seemed as if they did not want to serve us because we were African American. 0/10, would not reccomend.
