I ordered three meals: grilled lamb chops with Cajun cabbage and candied yams, blackened salmon with collard greens and mac & cheese, and blackened shrimp with Cajun cabbage and pasta salad. Based on the website photos and glowing reviews, my husband and I had high hopes—but unfortunately, the food fell flat in nearly every way.
For $56, we expected flavor, but most of the dishes were bland or poorly prepared. The pasta salad noodles were undercooked, the Cajun cabbage had an odd taste, and the collard greens tasted like plain boiled water. The lamb chops seemed to have been seasoned after cooking rather than during, the shrimp lacked any real flavor, and the mac & cheese was disappointing—boxed versions taste better. The yams were overly sweet to the point of being hard to enjoy.
The only item we found somewhat decent was the salmon, though it was a very small portion for $16. As for the red beans and rice—the cheese sauce on top was tasty, but the beans and rice themselves tasted like something from a boxed mix.
Sadly, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place based on our experience.
