Family and friends came to visit with us in Springfield, OH. They wanted to eat at a place that had variety (with Seafood), so Jay's was the first location that came to mind. The service was great and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is great. Give it a try .

I've wanted to eat here for sooooooo long. Now I have and I'm not sure what the hype is. I hate to leave a disparaging review of a local restaurant because I love to support local but the only good thing I had tonight was the wine. My filet, I ordered medium, was medium well+ and the crab leg add on was rubbery. I was disappointed in the experience.

Been meaning to go here for years, but never made it in till last night. Had a fabulous meal last night. The crane cake was amazing. The walleye over asparagus was awesome. The crembrule was good. The only thing I would take away from the meal was the ceaser salad was a little overdressed.

Food was ok but very over priced. My 100lb lol wife ordered the scallops as an appetizer but the portion was very small. So I ordered a crab cake for her to make up for it but once again it was underwhelming. Cesar salads were very good and so was the bread. Those items came out fast. We both had the Prime rib special which was good but took an hour after our appetizers and salads. Service was wanting but they were busy. Wife and I are in our fifty's and we were some of the youngest patrons in the restaurant by far. Our bill was around $180 with tip. Not sure I would go back but my wife would but it's my money. I meant our money. A better restaurant in days gone by.Parking: $3.00 to part until 4:00 am with credit card. Just bring license plate number with you to kiosk

Our waiter was the best. 2 steaks were ordered at our table, medium rare. 1 was overcooked, 1 was very very rare. Salmon was way too thick cut. I can say I've been there. Not going back.

My family heads to Jays as our hub of celebration for life's events. Discovered years ago when I requested seafood for my birthday, Jays has stuck in our minds from the first visit. Casual and elegant and comfortable. Fresh seafood. Knowledgeable staff. If you are like my mother and avoid surf, their turf selection of steak, prime rib, and chicken could not disappoint. Meat is always been cooked to perfection. Wine selection rotates in and out with new selections. They also keep tanqueray ten stocked at the bar for the best gin and tonic. After all the food and drink we managed to snap a quick pick of our wine selection.

On 2/24/24 we had 6 o'clock dinner reservations (party of 5) at Jay's prior to going to an adult prom night at the Dayton Arcade at 8:00. We arrived on time thinking we had plenty of time to eat dinner before going to the prom. (We were late) Although we were served drinks and appetizers , we sat there feeling ignored and didn't receive our food til 7:40. When the food arrived it was luke warm at best. I ordered the fisherman's platter and the fried shrimp and it was very greasy and seemed to have been double dipped!! The gentleman that served us was too busy flirting other patrons to accommodate us. They also charged us a gratuity for 6 people and stated on the receipt that we had a party of 6 but there was only 5 in our party!! I guess they knew that that's the only way for our waiter to get his tip since we complained about the food and service. They gave us a small discount which was a joke!! I looked at my receipt once I got home and the calculations did not add up. (See top of receipt) For the fisherman's platter $35.50 and 2 glasses of wine $26.00 I still ended up paying $68.49 after their "so called discount" for bad food and service!! Jays used to be the best place in town for great seafood but since the owner passed away it has really gone downhill!! Over priced & over rated. I would not recommend to anyone!!

The food was so bad tonight! We have ate there before and it was great but tonight was so bad! The drinks tasted awful, the mussels and oysters served cold. The lobster tail cold (no butter served with it)and tasted like rubber, ceasar salad tasted like vinegar, no utensils until we asked, no appetizer plates, mashed potatoes tasted like straight horseradish, I could go on and on. Worse meal of my life and our party of 4 are physically sick as a result. Don't know what's goin on but they need to get it together and fix something! Terrible
