“Massive portions, fresh ingredients, clearly homemade with no shortcuts. This is the old school American-Chinese place you want it to be with the classic dishes: sweet and sour and hot mustard containers (not packets) presented with the appetizers, a hot and sour soup so much better than any in the area, and an extremely friendly staff. If I had a negative, it’s the fried rice, it just felt a little flat compared to everything else… but mixed with the chicken and sauce was still delicious. I don’t live close by but will find reasons to visit here.“

“Very interesting place. The fire truck backdrop to the bar kinda sets the tone. Tables and seating are nicely laid out. Good menu... lots to choose from. Waitstaff very attentive. Meals were plentiful and tasty. All four folks in our group were quite pleased. The crowning touch was probably the infectious laughter coming from a lady 🤣 at a table on the other side of the room. Turns out she is the owner of the place, and well liked by all the waitstaff around us. Always a good sign to have a good time.“

“I am absolutely smitten. Kevin (a host) from Coldwater Cafe was just self motivated to call my personal line from a number he got from my Valentines reservation. I thought I forgot something there last night, but no. It was to tell me that Coldwater was serving one of my favorite soups today and he remembered that I loved it. What he didn't know is I already had a cup to go in the fridge from last night as he wasn't working when we came in for dinner. There is really no other restaurant local to Miami County that equals Coldwater's food, environment, staff, and overall experience. How incredibly thoughtful. Just love that kid and the whole establishment. It's one of the only local restaurants that delivers the whole package every time. Just wow.“

“Ok so we’ve dined at Old Scratch Troy location about 6 times since it’s opened. Waited a bit to give them time to really get in their groove. While I do recommend the place. Pizza is good, staff is nice (especially Amanda at the bar) and shareables are tasty. That said I would like to see the food’s taste be a little more consistent. My favorite dish is the fire roasted cauliflower but sadly it hasn’t been prepared the same way twice with the last two times it was barely seasoned at all once it was almost raw. Hopefully as training continues they will fix that issue.“

“Our favorite restaurant in downtown Dayton. Like the atmosphere, the people, and the food! Guacamole was delicious as usual. Enchiladas verdes were out of this world good. Meghan was wonderful as a server. And finally, thank you for our favorite seats at the chef’s counter. Love watching everyone cook! We will be back after the new year. 😊“

Our server tonight was Jamie, and she was damn near the best server I’ve ever had! Her recommendations were spot on, her hospitality was unmatched, and it was a wonderful experience.

I went with some coworkers, and we all tried different things, and we shared 3 appetizers. EVERYTHING we tried was so yummy

I will be coming back with friends, and am so glad I found this little gem!

“As a kid (In the 80s) this was my favorite place to eat. I lived in Northland Village (before it got wild) and my dad would order this on Fridays when we were good kids during the week. Everything was fresh, and it was evident that it was made with love. As someone who rarely eats out due to a preference for preparing fresh meals, Ms. Rhea has undoubtedly changed my perspective. “Small place, perfect taste! Best beer in Dayton. Spectral Alphabet is the best IPA I've ever had. I stop in occasionally to get a four pack and the staff is always so nice and laid back. Bar area is small, but that's what I love about it. I can't stand the cold, dark, dingy, loud and overcrowed warehouse vibe most breweries throw at you. B&B is different, it's warm, clean, chill, and the beer is the best. Come here and appreciate it yourself.“

It was awkward on Valentine's weekend as the tables were so close in the area I was sat that it felt like we were sitting at a table with strangers. One side was a single long bench and I was maybe two feet from someone else. It was impossible not to overhear all the conversations. Not the atmosphere you want for this occasion.“

Be careful with to go, the bourbon sauce will spill out of the box into the saran wrap they put around it. Ask for your sauce on the side to avoid the mess. They always make sure you get exactly what you want and go the extra mile! I've become a regular here very quickly. “Love this place! It’s been here since I was a little girl although then it was called The Red Barn. The food is great and always fresh, I consider it down home cooking, I believe they take pride in cooking unlike fast food restaurants. The prices are always at a good price. I have never been disappointed. Now the only drawback is the drive thru window takes about a good 20 minutes at the fastest so prepare to wait but it’s worth it!“
