The day I went in it felt like I was a colored guy in the 40s. Dead silent weird vibe. Food was ok but my bowl was skimp a bit on bacon. Was odd cause I've been to waffle houses in hoods and trailer communities and never felt that.
I got annoyed, elize the server was bragging about how easy her job was. Talking about holding some babies. How she hates relearning stuff so this is a good job. (Conversations with coworkers) Good for her. However she did seem to struggle to remember our coffee and water despite us being the only customers. Second time having her. Spends a lot of time chatting with coworkers. Rather than awkwardly ask for a different server ( the rest are great) I'd rather not come back.
26 yrs trucking I've been to quite a few Waffle Houses. Always alone. In my experience, they have been consistent no matter what state I was in. The people are local who work there. Tired but Hardworking. The cooks do " Short Order Breakfasts". The Ultimate test of being a good Chef. Again, consistent. I went this morning after probably 3 years. No longer can work.
