The Fern is a staple in Findlay. I was looking forward to a new experience. The atmosphere is nice. It had the feeling of your favorite local bar with grub as an added bonus. Service was solid. We ordered and had our meals in less than 10 minutes. My husband and I both got meatloaf sandwiches. We added baked beans and fries as a side. Unfortunately, the only thing hot was the fries. Everything else was less than lukewarm, not cold, but certainly not warm. It's hard to say if the meatloaf, which is a specialty there, is good because it was hard to enjoy when I couldn't get past the not being warm. And maybe we had to ask ti have it warmed up? I don't know. I don't mind a cold meatloaf sandwich if it's a next day leftover lunch, but at a restaurant I prefer it hot. It's the little things that bring people back.

My niece and I had gone to the antique mall and were looking for a local spot for lunch. This place is a hidden gem so much so we passed it by the first time on accident. We had the pretzel bites with beer cheese to start, I had the perch sandwich and my niece had chicken fingers. Everything was hot and delicious and our waitress was very sweet. We'll definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem! Clean and fresh atmosphere. Food was good too. Huge wings and a Bloody Mary to die for! Everyone was so welcoming! Will definitely be back. Bonus they are a Cleveland Browns backer bar!!!

Rude staff, we were accused of not tipping enough when in fact we tipped the usual 25% which our tab was around $26 and we tipped $6. The server had the audacity to come over to our table after we paid and said “you didn’t tip, where is the tip”. I was extremely confused as to who are you to come up to a paying customer and accuse them of not tipping when indeed we tipped in cash and the bartender didn’t receive their end of the tip so our server made it a point to embarrass us in front of our friends. My husband walked over to the bartender to make the situation right and again was berated by the staff and made to feel bad about not tipping the bartender after our bill was paid and the drinks that were served to us by the bartender were already on the ONE bill we received at the end of the night. I’m sorry but that is not our fault those drinks were placed on one bill, maybe you should of cashed us out there to begin with for serving us a total 2 drinks between two people and then we could sit down at our table and pay a separate bill. Or you as a bartender could talk to the server who received the whole 25% tip that WE PAID. Not accuse customers of not tipping enough. We were taken a back and have never been treated this way, extremely disappointed with how unprofessional and disrespectful the staff was. It’s sad bc their food is amazing but won’t be going back bc of just how terrible the service is.

Good food at a reasonable price. Service is variable depending on number of people. Not terrible but varies a lot

For what used to be a major hole in the wall, The Fern has drastically changed. Inside has been spruced up and the menu is miles different. Got the gyro and fried pickles. Pretty darn good!
