Had a large group for lunch. We ordered appetizers, sandwiches, shrimp platter and kids meals. Appetizers were typical, nothing spectacular. French dip sandwich was very good. Shrimp platter was average. Smoked wings were excellent. Kids mini corn dogs average but the mac-n-cheese was cold (just a mictowave prepared dish). Server was friendly, quick to meet needs and helpful. Overall, an average diner but their personally prepared items, like the smoked meats, are great.
Fern cafe has great food, good service, the restaurant is nice but the guest made me feel out of place. This doesn’t seem to be a town that sees African Americans often. I felt out of place the first time my husband and I went 2 weeks ago. The waitress was sooooo sweet and friendly! However, the other customers stared like I had a unicorn horn on my forehead. The second week I went I didn’t get the same warm Feeling from the waitress. She seemed nice but forced to take good...
Asked if the patio was open. So I was there for brunch in the nice weather. Broughy my breakfast burrito which was good. No one checked on me. Had to go in to pay my bill. That's why I have a 1 star for service. I'll still go back because it's been better with past experiences...
