“I’m surprised that anyone could provide a negative review as our family orders from this place monthly and have loved everything we’ve ordered. We love their pizza crust and anytime we have guests over, they comment about how great this pizza is. Also, their pizza bowls are incredible, their selection of subs is impressive, and their cinnaPOPs are awesome! I’d strongly recommend their Italian and chicken bacon ranch subs as well. Outstanding!!! Truly grateful to have this gem in the neighborhood!”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“My brother and I made plans to come stop by for their matcha lattes since we heard they had some of the best around. What we failed to do was actually LOOK at their operating hours and came past closing. 😅 Our faults, but they noticed us and let us in to make us drinks anyway. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back DURING opening hours next time... as we both loved our matcha lattes. “Let me be clear: I did not dine at Fizzlestix. I transcended. I transfigured. I Fizzled — and I have never been the same. From the instant I approached the glowing neon sign (which, I swear, winked at me), the world outside faded like a bad memory. A dragon made of mist greeted me at the door — or maybe it was dry ice, but who am I to question magic? I knew then: I had entered a realm where the ordinary fears to tread. My friends and I attended this establishment and were absolutely blown away by the service. Aly was a very exceptional waitress and clearly had a humor that was relevant to us all. The owner, Darcy, greeted us with a smile and shared the joy of fizzlestix with us. It felt as if we were at home, enjoying a meal with the closest of our families. We took advantage of the all you can eat steak special - which has by far been the best deal I have ever ran into. For us, we are a group of rather giant individuals. We can definitely eat and we destroyed 24 steaks as a group. They not only served us all of this fine sirloin, but they did it with a smile that was clear to light up the entire room. This is the greatest establishment known to man. Have you ever had a dream come true? That was fizzlestix for me.”

“I’ve ordered carry out here a few times after going for my first time a couple months ago. The staff is so friendly each time I’ve come in and my food is always ready on time. The Chicken Piccata they had on special was so good, and the Chicken Marsala off the menu board is delicious. The portions are good and the bread on the side is so tasty. Don’t forget to grab a slice of the delicious Tiramisu out of the cooler. 5/5”
