A historic landmark in Marietta, Ohio. The interior is grandiose!

I came back to Marietta for homecoming again. I had probably one of the smallest rooms in the hotel, but as it was only myself it was perfect! I was on the 5th floor and had an awesome river view! I had absolutely zero issues during my stay! Breakfast in the Gun Room was tasty as ever! Meetups with classmates in the larger center suites were great! I will definitely be staying here again in the coming years!

Rooms: I had probably the smallest room in the hotel, but as it was only myself, it was just the right size! The ensuite bathroom was perfect. The shower was built for tall people and had great water pressure and temperature.

Walkability: Park your car. You can walk most anywhere in Marietta in 20 minutes. I moved my car twice, once for dinner Friday evening (Williamstown) and once for breakfast Sunday morning (at the Busy Bee - tasty!) in Harmar.

Walked into to River front bar. The bartender saw us walk in. He went into the back. We thought he was just getting someone's food order. We sat there for 10 min. We finally just walked out. We were going to also book hotel for tomorrow, because we came in from out of town. They completely lost our business. We left and went to another establishment for food and drinks. Will find another place to stay tomorrow!

Five stars for great location. Excellent views from some of the rooms. We have stayed several times just because of that.
Room cleanliness could be better.
Front desk staff was very unprofessional and accomadating during our last visit.
Overall a decent place to, primarily for the location and proximity to shopping and restuarants.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lafayette Hotel. The room was old fashion and that is what we came for, to step back in time. In my genealogy research I found that my aunts worked there back in the day. I wanted to see what they saw. The bed was like a marshmallow, so soft and comfortable. We ate in the bar and the dinners were so delicious! The staff was so friendly!! We will be back!

Rooms: Comfortable and charming!

Nearby activities: On the Ohio River we watched the barges come and go. You must try the pizza at The Original Pizza Place not far from the Lafayette, so good!!!

Safety: Everyone on the streets said hello and were friendly!

Walkability: Close to shops and restaurants!

Food and drinks: Great food!

Marietta is a charming city and the La Fayette is part of that charm. I love the location and the "haunting" experience. I did not love the the bathroom so small the toilet was under the sink, and the pullout sofa bed will haunt anyone who sleeps in it for a while because it is really awful. Honestly, there were a lot of things that needed improvement, but the ambience there really is great and I would stay again just for the location and view of the Ohio River.

Rooms: The rooms are way outdated, not as spacious as the pictures lead you to believe, and our bathroom was the smallest we have ever seen. The toilet was literally under the sink. The pullout sofa has been worn out for decades. No frig, no microwave. Nothing I saw was workable for anyone with mobility limitations. Even so, the rooms have a certain charm that is attractive. Call it an adventure! Maybe you'll hear a ghost!

Walkability: This is a terrific location for walking anywhere in historic Marietta. The view is also beautiful.

Food and drinks: The Gun Room, the primary restaurant was closed one evening, Starbucks was open sometimes, and staffing was very short. We did have breakfast there and the food was good. The best food was across the street at Austyn's Restaurant. A little pricey but worth every penny!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The coffee pot water well was dirty so we did not get to make coffee in our room. The free breakfast was only available Monday thru Friday. Not Saturday or Sunday. This was not what is on their website. So we did not get breakfast there. The fan in the room did not work. Not a bad place to stay, location is perfect and staff were friendly. The hotel is overrated and expensive for what is offered. I realize that the atmosphere in the hotel is from the era but there is only one elevator in the whole hotel and it is very small.

The hotel is beautiful and old, containing many gorgeous antiques. The room was furnished with antiques! Although the room was very small, I guess that’s how it was back in the early 1900’s. Overall it was very nice and enjoyable.

Rooms: Small but nicely furnished with antiques.

Went there with my fiance when we first started dating 10 years ago and we had a great experience,we wanted to go back again and get married and he finally proposed recently so I call the hotel and get no answer, leave a message...wait a few days and nothing...tried again and left another message and still have yet to get a call back
I'm really disappointed in their lack of customer service..I would love to get married there!
