This was our first visit to the Purple Indian. Neither of us live in Mt Gilead so it’s a new experience for us. Very friendly service by all I interacted with. We went with the cauliflower crust bacon chicken Alfredo pizza and it was delicious! It doesn’t have a really noticeable cauli flavor and I wondered for a moment if we got a regular crust but after a few bites I could taste the cauli a bit. Great food at a great price. I've been eating here since the mid-70s. Always great food service and atmosphere. All food items are top-notch and very reasonably priced. I especially love their "The Big Chief" sub. You simply can not go wrong with The Purple Indian!!!!

We love supporting a small local business with amazing food. The tiny little location is hidden by the railroad tracks, but easy to find. What waits inside is flurry of pizza staff churning out the best pizza in town! The garlic knots were my favorite, handmade, crispy outside & fluffy inside. We had two pizzas: a regular pepperoni & the supreme, both fresh, piping hot, crisp bottom- not soggy- perfect tavern style cut with plenty to share. The best part is the fresh dough....
