Ørchard Bar & Table-Catawba

Beautiful place, but the food was lousy for the most part. One of us got the perch. It was so overcooked that it couldn't be cut with a knife. Sent back. Took forever for the replacement which was somewhat better. I thought in that caliber of a restaurant they should have at least comped a percentage off or a free dessert or something, anything. But nothing except an apology. I had the tuna nachos. The wontons were stale and the tuna flavorless. The chicken dinner, chicken was good, but vegetables under cooked, very touch. The salmon dinner was not bad. Very disappointing for the price, but a beautiful place.

We had a pretty terrible experience food wise at the orchard. It was a crowded Sunday around noon, but not completely full. We had a reservation so we got sat right away, our drink orders were taken and put in an appetizer. We got our drinks and appetizer rather fast, then we put in our main entrees. The food took extremely long to come out, but our server was sure to apologize and let us know the kitchen was a bit backed up. We were fine to wait, although it had now been over 30 mins. They finally brought out our orders and one of our ordered was made incorrectly from what the menu description said, so they took it back, brought out one of the right items then had to quickly get mine remade. My dad ordered clam chowder that was so thin it looked like milky water. He said it was the worst clam chowder he has ever had. Then my order was hot honey chicken sandwich that ended up being a dry frozen chicken patty that had been deep fried, served on a dry bun with lettuce, tomato, and mayo on the side. There was no trace of any hot honey or hot sauce at all. It was by far the worst item for the money. Everyone else at our table was just mediocre food at best. The homemade chips were soggy , the canadian bacon on the eggs benedict was super tough. Everything was just very underwhelming for the price. We were there for almost 2 hours by the time we were done, the place had really cleared out. We paid for everything in full, although i dont believe we should have at all. The wait alone wasn't the problem, it was the quality of the food. I would not go back unless it was for a drink only.

Have had dinner here in the past and the service and food was outstanding. Yesterdays brunch for my brothers birthday, was awful. Service well below their caliber. Food was not done properly, not done to specification, and cold. My brothers breakfast sandwich was to be without bacon since he is a vegetarian; it came with bacon on it told the server and he picked the bun up with his bare hands amd was going to take it off!!! We stayed we just need another sandwich in which he took it back and reappeared a minute later. We asked if it was remade and he said oh and went back!!! Want to go back for dinner some time but just not sure at this point??

The service and the staff were fantastic. Although I had the wagyu steak and I'm not sure if he just pulled a bad piece or if it's always like that it was very chewy and grainy almost like warmed up good jerky. Very surprised everyone else at the table had a very good meal and one other of those steaks and it was okay I'm not saying I wouldn't come back but I don't think I would choose that steak again.

Poor timing between the kitchen and servers, so our appetizer came after the main courses had arrived. All we got was an apology. For this caliber of restaurant, if it arrives after the mains you put it on the table and take it off the bill

We have had dinner here 10 times last year and a few times this year , we have eaten in the main dining room and the farm stand part of the property always perfect! For after dinner we have had drinks at the Coop a nice place to hang out!

A really beautiful place great to go for a special occasion but had more casual outdoor space

I ordered the Bacon, Ham and Cheese Omelet with Potatoes my old stand bye. As usual it was very tasty as was the Mimosas. I would suggest maybe a couple of changes to the menu every so often. Took a walk around the beautiful property and gist shop, then bought some bake goods before leaving. Karen

Poor service for the price. How do u have 1 bartender on a Sat night? Took 15 mins to get drinks. Also need better more descriptive signs for where valet parking located since not the front entrance.

Food is always great and consistent. Our server was excellent. Love the atmosphere. Always a great experience.

Our waiter was the best! We were celebrating my daughter passing her nursing exam and he brought us a celebration dessert! We love the Orchard. We go all the time!

Food was absolutely delicious and the ambience and setting was very nice also. We were dining in celebration of our wedding anniversary and we were very pleased overall. I will say the non gratuity service charge of two and a half percent (which we were not made aware of until we received the bill) seemed odd and over the top, especially considering the very expensive prices already being charged. I don't understand why the restaurant would not just put the profit margin desired in the food prices. It comes across as a little pretentious I believe.

Great menu, service and food. The place was really nice, although the noise level was a bit much. The food was outstanding. It was a crowded night because many other restaurants were closed due to a water health concern on the island, but this restarant came through with an on-time reservation and good service. I had the salmon and I think it was the best I ever had. The house salad and dressing were really good too. I wanted to try so many other dishes, but there was no room! We will be back....oh,, and cocktails were excellent as well.

We made dinner reservations for Monday evening, June 23rd, through OpenTable. We were seated at the high top table bar area which I requested. Once seated, the service we received was terrible and slow. We felt like we were being ignored and it was difficult getting the server's (Melina G.) attention to order food, drinks, and getting the bill so I could pay and get out of there. After waiting calmly for an extended period, I went to the bar area from our table, with the bill, to ask if someone could cash us out so we could leave. Another server had to go find her. I expect better from a place like Orchard Bar & Table!

PAY TO PARK
Very roomy. Tables and booths were generous with space at the table and at the booths. It was 101⁰ outside with open patio concept walls and the temp inside was a comfortable 75⁰. The bathrooms had a narrow hallway. Which will be hard for wheelchair maneuvering to get in, but very clean and spacious bathrooms.
