“I recommend them because I have always loved going, but last night was awful. We were with friends, who were only there for the 2nd time. It has been almost a year, and they couldn't wait to come back! Very disappointed, our waitress must have been new because she didn't seem to know the specials and the special board did not match the menu. I wanted the special on the board, pointing to it but without the other proteins, she went back to ask the chef (who was obviously thinking of the menu special) and said it was fine. My friend wanted the same thing but with all of the protein. A few minutes later, the waitress came back and told my friend that the special wasn't available. I asked about me and she thought I wanted the current special, so I picked something I knew was on the menu (not really wanting it after being excited for the special) and my friend ordered Salmon medium. When dinner came out, somehow my friend had scallops topped with risotto, which they said they didn't have. So, my friend waited 15 minutes, while we were all eating to have Salmon come out raw in the middle. So, I asked to see a manager and she came over and we explained the situation and she had the salmon made for my friend AGAIN...it was cooked right but was half the size of the original undercooked salmon. Good thing she took that off their bill! She offered us gelato, but we just wanted to leave. The waitress gave us the wrong bills and they gave me $1.90 off my bill for having to order something else. Hopefully they want to come back, because it has always been our favorite. We will be traveling and reviewing restaurants across Ohio soon, hopefully this makes it on our list.”

“We had lunch this afternoon at the Tin Goose Diner, first time visiting it came highly recommended from my friend Jeff Rahla. We both had smash burgers with iced tea. Our food was very good came out hot. It was a huge bonus getting to watch all the aircraft takeoff and land just outside the diner. The cleanliness of the restaurant was very impressive. Absolutely spotless. Our server, Jacob was very friendly and provided us great service .”

The pizza and cheese bread was demolished so fast as I expected lol The salad was exactly what I wanted for a post-Christmas crunch, and the wings my husband nearly inhaled so I can’t review those personally lol but I will next time! “You know I had written this place off because the several times I went in the bartender I think Julie was her name. Long dark hair skinny girl. The drinks she made me were absolutely horrible! I understand she no longer works there because she had been cheating on her husband and her boyfriend or whatever was coming in and causing problems with customers. Anyways I went back in a couple weeks ago to hear miss kitty and the bartenders there made really great cocktails! Obviously that bartender was the problem.”

“Brand’s has a great Service Department. They recently did a super job performing some overdue scheduled maintenance on a Yanmar 2GM20 in our J105. I recommend them for the care of your sailboat.”

“My husband ordered the Lake Erie perch sandwich and swears it was some other fish. Size of the filet was much larger than a Lake Erie perch. After reading other reviews, we see that there were complaints about this issue recently. The menu says “Lake Erie perch sandwich”. Nothing about an up charge for Lake Erie perch.”

“Fairly new bar in downtown Port Clinton and what a pleasant addition to Port Clinton. They have a tap wall located just as you walk in and this wall has several craft beer and cocktails on tap and ready for you to pour yourself. They also have domestic beers at the bar along with what looked like a fully stocked bar. They also have pool tables, dart boards, cornhole and pinball machines for something else to do while you grab a drink. We were there on a busy Saturday afternoon while a festival was going on and with the tap wall there was never a wait to get a drink. They also had live music on a small stage that added to our enjoyment. I plan on going back this summer when I’m back in the area and you should definitely check it out if you are anywhere nearby.”

The Mac pizza was a hit with the kids, the New York white was a little more “adult” but my husband and I both agreed that the Mac n cheese pizza was probably the best pizza we’ve ever had. “I stop at every Big Boy I come across when I travel. This was the most friendly, but with a terrible waitress. Food was ok. I asked for extra pickle and mayo and didn't get it. Didn't get refills or extra napkins.”
