I have Celiac. I found out at 39, I'm now 42. I have lived a hard life when it comes to food. The thing that keeps us alive and brings us together is literally my enemy.
Today, I had to drive my daughter to camp (about an 8 hour trip). I'm exhausted. My anxiety is crazy. I was so hungry! We never get sushi because of my Celiac and because my 9 year old is not a fan. After researching earlier, we found you! I appreciate all the warnings about not being a gf kitchen. I also appreciate an amazing gf menu and a separate prep space for it!
I don't trust any kitchen that isn't gf. I can't. The smallest amount will make me so ill. I haven't been feeling well and have not been able to hold a meal for almost 2 months, until today... we even brought some home!
We got there at 6 and did have to wait. However, it was so worth it! And, rightfully so... it was 6pm one Sunday.
Not only was I able to eat today without getting sick, I actually felt full!

The staff was great; everyone was friendly. Almost every worker was smiling at some. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable.

It was cute. A little crowded, but the atmosphere was great.

If I literally had anything to complain about is that I'm old and they have bar-stool chairs. But, that's literally not they important because... I ate some yummy food today!

Tried it twice, and I don’t get the appeal of this place. Sushi was okay. Yaki udon was soba noodles in a goopy sauce with some green peppers thrown in - reminded me of a frozen dinner. Something set off my shrimp allergy (not life threatening, just uncomfortable) although no shrimp was listed in the dishes we ordered. Atmosphere-dark - didn’t help me trust the sushi preparation.

Our large vegan group had dinner here the other night. It was my first time dining here. The vegan menu is delicious! The staff was helpful and friendly and the service was exceptional. Appreciative that Sakana staff was able to accommodate us and give us a great experience.

Absolutely one of the best sushibplaces around!

I really wanted to like this spot, and I can believe there are those that will enjoy it. To me, everything we ordered was wet, soggy, and COMPLETELY tasteless. The server, while polite, was not helpful, kind, or engaging. I've never eaten Kraft Mac and Cheese and every box of that will have to be wiped from the Earth and unavailable to me before I ever consider going here again.

Went on tuesday for the first time for their half off sushi. Service and food was top shelf plus the bill was a lot lighter than normally eating out due to Tuesday discount. Happy hour prices are great too. Wouldnt feel bad about paying normal price but with discount its a great experience.

Had amazing food but my waitress was terrible. Waited for ever to just get water and never checked up on my date and I I think her name was Lexi. Other than that the atmosphere and food was great. Just felt short end on the stick with service

Juan was the bartender! He’s amazing and very informative. They have one of the best lunch specials I’ve ever seen. 18 dollars for soup or salad, an appetizer, and 2 sushi rolls. I definitely recommend this place.

I thoroughly enjoy Sakana. The staff is friendly and the sushi is well-crafted. Their Tuesday night special (half off sushi and discounted beverages) is a great deal. Good selection of Sake, too.

Went here for dinner for the first time and I don’t need to go back. I’m really disappointed because the reviews looked really good, but our sushi was lackluster and our server definitely did not want to be there. We didn’t complain, paid our bill, and tipped 20% but not a great experience. The sushi tasted kind of old, and the presentation wasn’t worth the $98.

Ordered Pick 3 with miso soup, mushroom dumplings and Philadelphia special roll during my lunch break. The food was delicious. I packed my entire roll to go without even trying a single piece but left the container at the restaurant. After work, I came to the restaurant to ask if they by any chance still kept my roll but it turned out they threw it away since it’s already been 4 hours since my visit. They remade my roll on the spot super quick and gave it to me even though I was the only one at fault for leaving the box at the restaurant and I didn’t ask to remake it for me. The roll was delicious. Thank you and sorry for the trouble!
