“Love this place! The food is always amazing, with a mix of American classics (General Tso’s, Sweet and Sour, etc) with thai and Hunan influences. The atmosphere is an updated version of the old school layout with the bar on one side and the dining room on the other, so the dining room is usually quiet and a good place to converse without having to shout. Service is always excellent - they even box up your leftovers for you!”

Pork Shumai, Wonton in Chili Sauce, Chicken and peppers, boiled fish filets with pickled cabbage were all phenomenal. I never had fresh and hot from the fryer crab rangoon. 100 out of 10!! Everyone was kind, friendly and gracious. I recommend that you give this establishment a try.”

“I’ve been excitedly waiting for this location to open since I work right down the road. Stopped by for lunch today and ordered my usual- half slab of ribs, fries and green beans. Plus a couple bottles of my favorite sauce of all time, Sweet City. Delicious as always. The ribs seemed even meatier than I’m used to at the other locations I frequent. Lemonade was great too.”

“I really wanted to love Gene's, as I have heard wonderful things, but we were very underwhelmed with the food.
The Crudo small plate was mediocre at best and very fishy (although it was beautifully plated!). The Asparagus was delicious, but not $27 delicious. The Ricotta cavatelli was ok. The Pork was yummy. The Quesillo (Venezuelan flan) was just... meh.
The service from all staff and the atmosphere were absolutely A+. (Ellie (sp) was amazing!)
I will go back to give it another shot, but for the price it's a tough sell...”
