Recently I learned that ‘Alcove’ is a fancy name for “nook”, or better yet, “hole in the wall”. That’s how this restaurant was started, as a hole in the wall. This is one of the best diners I’ve been to for years. You’re not gonna find the family treatment and service and down home food here anymore as restaurants like these slowly fade away. Come hungry, leave stuffed. Come as a customer, leave as a friend.
Stopped in to get breakfast early this morning and Lord and behold the breakfast was just splendid. Coffee and food were top shelf and the waitress was very gentle and kind. thanks Alcove, family and I will be back often.
Met my sister here for brunch last month, and we really enjoyed it. We ordered breakfast—a lot of good food for a reasonable price. The staff knew we were from out of town, and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is your typical small town diner, which is exactly what we wanted. An overall lovely experience, and I’m sure we will meet here again!
