Ordered at 730pm. Beautiful lady taking order said they had to make fresh jollef rice. She said about an hour. I prepaid ($81). I got my food at 930pm. Jollef rice half done, goat meat tougher than leather. The rest of the food was luke warm. Flavors on point though. Barmaid was very apologetic and nice. Beautiful atmosphere. The kitchen is a whole different disaster story. I see why it was empty on a hot Friday night. Who wants to wait hours to eat. Do better. I luv the food, but i will find a better, more promt service oriented african restaurant to spend my money with.

What a fabulous place! The room is beautiful, vibe was cool and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was incredible. Our dishes came out hot and fast, everything was so delicious! Egusi was complex and warming, the jollof was flavorful, goat was tender. I can't wait to go back and try more from their kitchen.

I recommend this place only because every restaurant deserves more than my opinion. The food was hot and fresh however. I was not impressed. Server was very nice, drinks were nice and atmosphere was nice. I was confused why an African spot was playing American music. I just I thought I was going to get this whole African experience.

I dined in at the bar for my birthday dinner. Emily was my server and she was fantastic. She was quick, attentive, and had a great attitude! She recommended the goat tacos, what a great pick. I will back!

Used the take out which was supposed to be "catering". Was lied to about their services offered. Found this out a few days prior to my event. Also changed the food ordered of red snapper not letting me know until 1:43 am by text the night before my party! Offered me options of cancelling (are you kidding me I would be way short on food for my party) or tilapia. Sorry "tilapia" is not comparable to "red snapper" Avoid this place. Shady business. Deplorable service.

During our recent visit to Afrika, the restaurant's atmosphere caught us off guard. The interior was very quiet and a bit dark, which contrasted with the beautiful artwork and décor. The chairs were charming but felt a bit flimsy for someone of my larger size, affecting my comfort slightly. The restaurant was almost empty, with just one other person dining, contributing to the serene, albeit unusual, ambiance.

We ordered a variety of dishes to get a comprehensive taste of their offerings:

1. Jollof Rice with Goat Meat: This dish was outstanding, with the goat meat stealing the show. The flavors were rich and satisfying, earning it a solid 9 out of 10. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered an appetizer portion of just the goat meat to take home.

2. Red Snapper with Plantains: The red snapper was beautifully seasoned and flavorful, meriting a 7 out of 10. However, the sides left something to be desired. The plantain slices were thin, almost bacon-like, and the single slices of cucumber and tomato seemed inadequate.

3. Egusi with Fufu: This traditional dish was good, but not to my personal taste, I'd rate it a 7 out of 10. My family siblings would rate it an 8/9 out of 10, For someone who enjoys tripe, this rating might be higher.

4. Additional Orders: We also took home another soup with pounded yam and extra jollof rice, further showcasing our appreciation for the goat meat and the overall quality of the food.

Despite some minor flaws, the food at Afrika was generally well-seasoned and delicious, which is crucial for my palate. The restaurant’s unique atmosphere might be better suited for a different time of day, as it also functions as a lounge and might have a livelier vibe in the evenings.

*Overall Rating: 5 out of 5*

This rating reflects the mixed experience of an unusual atmosphere and some lackluster sides, balanced by the excellent main dishes. As this was my first experience with African cuisine, I found it a great introduction and would recommend trying it, especially during the day if you're there for the food rather than the lounge experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed the efo riro and fufu. Its once in a blue moon you come across a business that sells good food, most just sell for the sake of selling and never mind the flavor. At the end of it, i had the satisfaction i was looking for and a full belly. Would have loved more of the tripe and cow skin than more of the beef. Still, food portion was good and fufu portion in my opinion was filling. Thank you and please dont stop making good food.

A friend of mine suggested this place to me after I complained it's so difficult to get a nice walk in an African (especially Nigerian ) restaurant. Their food here is so much better compared to the similar restaurants I have visited in the past. I am glad they are on Doordash, but I tried checking them out just in case I needed to place an order soon but I can't find their store there. Kindly check it out pls.

I honestly have no complaints about this place. I guess I have found a go-to spot.
