“As regular customers at James Third Base, we already know the food is always great — but the lasagna soup they added to the menu last night was honestly one of the best soups I’ve ever had! The flavor was incredible, rich and comforting, and it came with an amazing piece of bread that tied the whole meal together perfectly. This absolutely needs to become a permanent staple on the menu. “Heard they fry up some good ol Walleye. Walked in & sat at the bar, by the door. Asked for the Walleye and a few other folks mentioned they were here for this Fish too. Great atmosphere. Folks all seemed to be cheerful on a Friday evening. Food tasted Great, not a bad thing about it. It comes on a very Fresh Hoagie Bun and I ordered Fries and Coleslaw with it. I noticed the Bartenders always were smiling. The Service was Great too.“

“I love going to Indian Mound Cafe. It is my primary destination for cheeseburgers, and I am NEVER disappointed. The onion rings are outstanding as well, which usually is not the case at most restaurants. There are no soggy or greasey onion rings at the Mound. The are crisp and delicious.

The owner, Sheila, is a truly lovely person who makes you feel like your business is important, but not as important to her as you are as a person. Whenever I stop in, Sheila greats me with a smile. On more than one occasion, when I have been having a bad day or two and stoped in to eat, Sheila always asks how I am. And not in a superficial or condescending way, but like someone who really does give a hoot.

As an older adult who spends a consiserable amount of time alone, it is heartwarming to think that someone is glad to see me. It is even more touching that someone is honestly concerned about my well being. But that seems to be the case with many of the customers who come to the Indian Mound Cafe. It really is one of those places where the owner and staff know the majority of clientele and treat them as more than just a source of income, but like friends.

As if those atributes aren't enough, there aren't a lot of places at this point where you can have a sit-down meal cooked to order w a soft drink and tip for under $20. I tend to make it in at least several times a month, and I typically bring folks with me. One of my regular dining companions raves about the vegetable soup which, like all the soups, is homemade. I, personally, keep trying to stop in early enough on a Thursday to try the sliders special, but no luck so far--they are always sold out.

One more thing, there is an excellent Central American bakery a couple of doors down from the Mound on the same side of the street. It is well worth stopping in and grabbing some delicious (and extremely budget friendly) baked goods to take home or enjoy as desert after eating at the Mound. The pastries are not super sweet, which I like. But of course, that just means I want more! And at the prices they charge, I can walk out with a good sized bag for between $10 and $12. It is one of those hidden gems that I really enjoy turning people on to. Bon Appetit.“

“I have never been to the Backdoor Saloon. It is located in the rear of the Greenhills Shopping Plaza. I believe it is a bar. The Backdoor Saloon has it's own vibe. It appears to have a tight knit community of people who gather there. This is showing up as a place I've visited because the harvest festival happens in close proximity. If you are thinking of going to be the Back Door Saloon I would encourage you to call first to get details about business hours and etc.“

We recently placed a very large wings and tenders order for my mother-in-law’s birthday party, and the entire experience was absolutely top notch from start to finish! We called the order in a full week ahead of time, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating over the phone. They followed up to verify the order, and then went above and beyond by calling again as a major snowstorm approached just to make sure everything was still good to go. That level of care and communication truly stood out. My husband picked up the order this morning as they opened and everything was ready right on time, packaged perfectly, and included an abundance of sauces and everything we could possibly need. The wings were hot, crispy, and incredibly delicious, and the tenders were just as amazing. We received so many compliments at the party on how good the food was. The staff is truly top notch, and the food speaks for itself. We appreciate Berds so much and will absolutely continue to support and recommend them and use them for any large event! The bartenders at Wolf's are always so welcoming and the diversity of the crowd not only provides an interesting dynamic but proves that with commonality lives comradery. I love this bar. Bonus- it's always clean there from the outside smoking area to the gaming area, throughout the bar and especially the bathrooms.... kudos to Rodney, the owner and to all of the staff for providing such an atmosphere.“

“062726 we didn't go out to eat planning to go here. Our intended restaurant was closed already. This place was close by. It was fairly busy & lots of little kids running around. A few loud, drunk men. (I know, its a liquor establishment, big shock, huh?) Got burgers, cheese curds, tater tots & 1 soda. It was like $35. Everything was good. Sat at the bar, service was good & friendly. Food came out 10 minutes after ordering. I would go back.“
