“I'm a regular have eaten at Grist at least twenty times and it's ALWAYS good. This restaurant crafts the most amazing, 100% homemade, unique culinary delights that are so far elevated beyond what you typically find around downtown or even Dayton at large. The dishes, soups, and desserts are consistently excellent. While the service is usually fast, when they are busy, the food can take a while. I once waited nearly thirty minutes for a sandwich. They apologized and gave me one of their amazing chocolate chip cookies to make up for the long wait. The price can be a touch high for a lunch, but the quality and portion sizes are there. I see a lot of new staff so I can tell the owners are working on the improving their processes and service speed. Also the staff are always super nice and helpful. Thank you Grist for being in downtown Dayton.”

I've tried the cold cut trio, the Tony, and the Gabagool. Each was unique in their flavor combinations, but all hit the same height in terms of taste and quality. Definitely will be looking to try each menu item.In addition to the really, really good food, the atmosphere is great. The small, curated grocery section was fun to look at, the place is decorated really well, and the service was amazing. The person taking our order was extremely welcoming and helpful, and I believe the owner came by and cleared our table and offered us a to-go bag. From the iced tea that I didn't even need to sweeten, to the pita and oil dip the bring as an appetizer, to the gyro and sweet potato fries to this amazing baklava! 10 out of 10 would recommend! “Jollity has figured out how to bring a New York City vibe to Dayton. The Brussel Sprouts are an amazing appetizer, the Ribeye was cooked to perfection and was tender and full of flavor. I am a steak snob, and this was some of the best ribeye I've ever had. In my opinion, it was better than the Japanese Fried Chicken, but the chicken is a close second, and my wife preferred it over the steak. Service was on point, and while the dining area is cozy, it wasn't too loud. Will definitely be back!”

“Stumbled across Agave & Rye while visiting the Dayton OH area. Was a very nice surprise! Atmosphere is super cool and unique, doesn't feel like you're in small town OH. The service was excellent, server did a great job! The food was good. The sticky cauliflower was fantastic! The Green Goddess was good, I thought it was a little dry but good flavor. If you're looking for something unique in the Troy area I highly recommend checking this place out”

“We found Home Sweet Home online while traveling in the area and decided to give it a try. i had the Frisco burger and it was cooked to perfection and tasted great. It was served with lots of great tasting crinkle fries. My wife had the pan seared cod with green beans. The cod tasted as close to fresh caught as she's had so far inland. The green beans were seasoned with ham and onions. Everything tasted fantastic!Ted was our waiter. He and the rest of the staff were really good and accommodating to us and the locals. The place was still really busy at 7 pm when we got there. Great sign of a great restaurant, staff and especially the chef! I definitely recommend it, and we'll be back!Parking: They're in a strip mall, there's car parking and more parking in the large lot to pull in any size trailer like we did. The large lot was for a old Kmart that was over a ways converted to a beautiful storage place, which looked closed and no cars at that time. I'd say pull in what you want.”

“My family and I were taking the kids out for a birthday dinner and had looked up Dairy Queens near scene75 as we were headed there next for a birthday party. As we arrived we noticed the location was named Dairy Cream and were confused at first but decided to go in anyway to check out the options available. Upon entering we were greeted by the very friendly owner as well as his cook who made us feel immediately welcome and at home. We tried a variety of the foods available and in our party 5 adults and 3 children not one plate was left with any food on it. After speaking with the owner and giving him my thanks for one of the best meals I've had that wasn't home cooked he explained that all food is made to order by the staff and that they've been working on their seasonings and cooking techniques over many years and many customers. This is definitely a local treasure and my family will continue to make the 45 minute trek north from our town just to eat here anytime we're visiting the area.Kid-friendliness: The staff works very hard to provide the kids with ice cream that is both flavorful but also presented in a way kids would like(colorful and full of sprinkles)”
