“Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Pretty non assuming interior- lots of the chicken theme, but it goes with the name. Bagel was good, flavorful, good texture both inside and out. Lox was fresh and tasty. The give you plenty of lox and toppings. Super friendly staff. Street parking would be tight suing the week, but was fine mid-day on Saturday.“

The downside is this location doesnt do online/app ordering so the lines can be long since you cant order ahead. Today was game day so it was busier than normal but there was consistently 10/12 people in line and many that'd walk in and immediately just leave and go to somewhere else.“

“I came in to grab lunch on my way home. Order was made fresh, correctly, and fast. I parked and went inside to order. The inside was clean and I was greeted by the staff right away. Staff members took the time to answer any questions I had and gave recommendation! Everyone was working as a team, even management was chipping in and getting work done. “It was easy to get in and out of on a Monday mid-morning. The food was pretty good - maybe I'm just spoiled by NY bagels. I had an everything bagel with chive cream cheese and it was definitely better than a lot of other bagels I've had, but not as good as in NY.“

“This is THE SPOT for breakfast sandwiches on fresh made boiled bagels. Being in the North market, it gets busy depending on what is happening at the convention center or immediate surrounding area. The staff moves as fast as the food can cook, y'all. You want mediocre food? Enjoy your McDonald's where you can get it in less than 5 minutes. Waiting is to be expected at a place like this and it's well worth it! Paying less than $8 for a fresh cooked egg (and cheese and meat!) on a freshly made bagel of the same morning?! Good luck finding that downtown. Five stars because the staff is still human and the food is excellent. Four stars on atmosphere because the North Market can get really busy, but busy is good, right?!“

“On a Sunday AM, I tried the #6 - included Swiss cheese, cooked pastrami, jalapenos, fried egg on a 5-grain bagel ($8.50). Just the right amount of saltiness and had a crisp bite. Service was welcoming, with the decor being Jewish-style simplistic.

The back bagel/bread deli has lots of good take-home options. Amongst the wide variety of bagels, they featured Rugelahs for $1.50, big chocolate chip cookies for $2.50.“

“I ordered a DoorDash and it would not let me add a side of bacon to my maple French toast bagel. I called in and spoke with Kaitlyn and she said she would add it to the order with no issues. I truly love their bagels and the customer service is excellent!“

“Good convenient coffee. The branding doesn’t make sense though. It is called the caffeine element but caffeine is not an element it is a compound. They even double down on this branding by displaying the chemical formula for caffeine on the door, which is clearly composed of multiple elements. Normally fine ok I get it but this place is attached to a library on a college campus. The pun is too much of a stretch to pull off.“

“I LOVE kettle-boiled bagels. There is nothing like them in the world. When found Barry’s Bagels, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. For the most part their bagels are light, puffy, super soft and full of flavor. However, I can’t tell you how disappointing it is to go in and order a dozen or half dozen bagels and they’re burned, flat, crunchy. The vanilla cinnamon when done right are the absolute BEST bagels in the world followed by the chocolate chip. In October 2025, I brought it to the attention of one of the owners that the bagels are literally burned, flat and crunchy. She kindly apologized, told me they had a new baker and gave me a card to get a dozen free bagels whenever I wanted. So last Sunday I used that card to get the dozen free bagels to take to my church small group-ugh, but the bagels were overcooked. Again! I wish they were more consistent with not overcooking the bagels. If I could trust they would be the same, soft, puffy bagels all the time, I’d go there every single day.

My other pet-peeve is that they close at 2 or 3 pm every day. Why not stay open until at least 4 or 5 pm? I can’t always get there before 2pm and it seems way too early to close a business down for the day. I’m from Vermont. We eat bagels of every kind in every way for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s weird to me that I can’t get a bagel sandwich for dinner.

Again on Sunday I ordered poppy seed bagels as a part of my dozen. It was the saddest poppy seed bagel I’d ever seen. There were maybe 10 poppyseeds on the entire bagel. I’ve never seen anything like that.

Cc I’m nn think they need to hire a quality control person to make sure their bagels are the same light, puffy(not burned) bagels consistently.

Also, their fountain soda dispenser has been “out of order” for nearly a year now. Frustrating.

Otherwise it’s a very clean, friendly place.“

“Brenen's Cafe is so good!! The Loaded Burrito is the best breakfast burrito in Columbus and it pairs so well with a Fireworks Red Bull Refresher for about $10. If you order online it's always ready in 15 minutes or less. Totally recommend!!“
