“I popped in here one day looking for a smoothie bowl. They have a couple of smoothie/bowl options, but the bulk of the menu is teas and shakes (which look really good and interesting). There's low/no added sugar options, protein powders, and they seem to be allergen-friendly. The guy working was helpful and friendly. The acai bowl with pb and granola had a smooth tasty base, generous amount of toppings, and I was very happy with it, especially since there aren't too many good options in Cbus to get a smoothie bowl. There's a little bit of sitting room inside if you don't want to order to-go. This place is a hidden gem for sure, and I'd go out of my way for it.“
“I had the pleasure of stumbling into GVN one day on my walk around German Village and I was excited to see that they offered Acai Bowls. YUMMMMM. It is hard to find a good, fresh acai bowl in Columbus that doesn't have all the additives. Well GVN has a perfect, fresh Acai Bowl with upwards of 20 options for toppings. Service is also amazing. “Really nice "old school" ice cream shop. Walk-up windows up front with places to sit outside when it is nicer. Quite a bit of seating inside. Ice cream, shakes, floats with a variety of toppings to enjoy. There is also the option of getting sandwiches, hot dogs, and soups if you want something more like a lunch/meal.“

“I live right by here and I finally made it over for brunch! I always knew it was small from walking by and when I walked inside I confirmed that there are only a few tables and bar seats, but they do lots of take out it seems. The entire place is covered in writing due to the markers left on every table, which was a cool vibe. I got everything but the chicken sink which is essentially a fried chicken sandwich with French toast as the bread - the chicken was good but not super crispy and the French toast was kind of meh. We also got the pancake balls with apple and pumpkin butter, which were delicious! I ended up eating the chicken out of my sandwich, skipping the French toast, and eating more pancake balls. My bf got the toast with egg on the inside and spicy/sweet bacon. I think he thought his meal was good, but nothing crazy! Overall I thought it was good, but I won’t be shouting from the rooftops about it.“

“We went there for the first time on Christmas day. Everything else was closed so we figured why not try something new? It is an AUTHENTIC Somali restaurant. We were the only Americans there. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. They didn't have a menu you when we went, our server just asked what meat we wanted and we couldn't decide so he brought us an assortment. Fish, chicken, and goat. The goat was amazing!! We will probably get all goat next time. We got spaghetti and rice, both were fantastic. I would recommend. It feels like you are stepping out of Columbus and into another country when you enter this establishment.“
“I finally got around to eating here looking for a vegetarian restaurant. It's not that vegetarian but they have a lot of meat dishes and not too much in total vegetarianism at least that I could find. I did order a super salad base with chicken and the chicken was pretty dry but the problem I had with it was the chicken in the bowl was just too much compared to the salad part of it and the other problem was all their sauces are like mayonnaise based I'm not sure that they have mayonnaise in them but I'm trying to say that they are that consistency. I would rather have some liquid salad dressing to cut down on the fats. Except for somewhat dry chicken the food was very good cost me $12 The bowl was a good size I almost couldn't eat it and I do feel like I've got enough food in me to go all day.“

My wife and I stopped in for a couple Açaí bowls today and while we were initially concerned about the price $12 per bowl, we were quickly distracted by the fantastic customer service. The young lady’s working the counter were incredibly friendly helpful. Now for the Açaí bowl. The best I have had by a country mile. This was delicious. French fruit ice, cold sorbet, fresh granola and at the recommendation of the employees, peanut butter. This all came together to make an absolutely can’t amazing meal. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.“

After trying several other smoothie places I can confidently say Tropical Smoothie Cafe has the best smoothies in Columbus. The food is excellent as well, highly recommend the Chicken Chipotle Flatbread. CeeCee is usually the girl that waits on us on Saturday morning and she knows her stuff and always has a smile and pleasant demeanor. “The bowls are balanced, delicious, and nutritious. I got the Pura Vida Acai Bowl and my girlfriend had the Electric Mermaid Bowl. The employees were very professional and friendly. Clean and relaxing environment that is good for a date, studying, or just hanging out for a little while. Bowls are a little more on the pricey side, but well worth it for the care and quality that goes into them. Didn’t try the smoothies or juice but I imagine they’re just as good.
