Hook & Hoof New American Kitchen and Cocktail

We came in town for an appt and was referred to try Hook and Hoof. I am so glad we did. We were greated by sweet Athena who advised the kitchen had just closed. We had come over an hr away and they said we could still get something. Appetizer's came out quick and so did our entrees! Definitely would come back!!

We had a wonderful experience the other night. It gets pretty busy mid week dinner hour. Staff were very sweet. They have a scratch kitchen meaning everything is fresh and they do seasonal change outs. They have a lot if bourbon on site and they do a smoke bourbon that is great. The salmon and steak were wonderful. The primer was spot on. Really cool atmosphere. This is a great place to treat yourself/partner.

We came a few years ago and loved it. We live over an hour away and came again on 6/20. It was just meh. Menu wasn’t enticing or inspiring. I thought the appetizer menu choices were especially uninspiring, although the mussels were good. Everything else was just ok (strip steak/shrimp and grits). We don’t feel we need to come back.

Food is high quality and comforting - we got the mussels, shrimp and grits and pork and beans. Pricing is very fair for what you get. The atmosphere is upscale yet relaxed, with nice moody lighting. Staff are very welcoming. Would highly recommend!

We drive in from out of state to eat here when we can. Can't say enough good things! Don't skip out on the mussels for an app.

I arrived at this restaurant at approximately 8:15 on sat May 9th we had 4 children with us and 5 adults. We play club soccer and were here for state cup .. our families travel quite frequently for sports. The restaurant had tables available. They refused to split the tables up of 4 and 5. I have to say growing up in the restaurant business I’ve never had a single restaurant refuse us service for any reason. It’s was definitely off putting and the excuse of we’re not taking any more tables was exactly that an excuse .. They were not accommodating to say the least .. not to mention they told us tmrw was Mother’s Day as if walking in with children was oblivious to us .. How shameful and embarrassing for your establishment.

The pork chop was absolutely amazing. I will be back. Even the carrot & parsnip puree & Brussels were so good. A bite with all the elements on the plate is pure umami!

Visited for a company dinner, our first time in OH!! Brussels sprouts were 10000/10, and the shrimp and grits very flavorful. other mix of sides and meals very good, we were a group of 6 and everybody loved their meal! Cabernet wine veryyy good. Service was very fun and nice, overall we had drinks, appetizers, and dinner in about 2 hours. Would visit again! Reservwtions strongly recommended, all meats and food ordered daily and made to order based on reservation count.

This place is fantastic. The food is absolutely incredible - I can't overstate how consistently amazing the food is. The atmosphere is very cool - perfect for date night or getting together with friends. The service is also wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and kind. They even made me a delicious mocktail upon request.

Incredible atmosphere, food, and service, all top notch. Perfect way to spend a date night. Our server Tom was super nice and attentive. The food we ordered came out at great pacing, and was incredibly delicious. We had the willoughby wedges (potato wedges), the best cauliflower I’ve ever had, a killer bowl of French onion soup, the smoked mussels and burger. I recommend all of those! A good friend recommended this spot a couple years ago and it lived up to everything he praised about.

Amazing food! Best dinner I have had in a long time- service was great, but food was over the top.

We went to this restaurant on a weekly basis. We spent a lot of money here.. The one time I told the server that the pork chop is overcooked, She came back with a Cavalier attitude and told me that it was tempted by the kitchen and perfectly done… I don’t know what they used to temp it, but as a career chef, You’re not gonna pull the wool over my eyes when a brined steak pork chop comes out gray and shoe leather. She became aggressive and rude and brought us our bill before I even ordered a second drink even though my son was still eating his meal.. And then told me that it was not her fault, when I told her, I understood that it wasn’t her fault but The fact that the pork chop was perfectly done when I was telling her that it was overcooked was BS , He stormed back to our table, slapped down the bill, told us to take our money and never come back.. The owner of the restaurant proceeded to chase us out of the restaurant, asking why we weren’t paying the bill.. After his server told us not to pay keep our $ and never come back.. Apparently, criticism is not something that they handle well.. enjoy being the next restaurant to shut down in Lake County.
