This review is long overdue... The cake I ordered was for my son's 1st birthday. I had high expectations because it was such a special occasion. The cake they made exceeded my expectations and looked like something you would see in a magazine. It was so beautiful, I cried when I saw it. They walked it to my car and made sure it was secure. It was such an amazing cake- I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful cake. It was perfect for my son's first birthday. People are still talking about it. Thank you- it meant so much to us.

This shop was previously owned by the Alderman Family. Their daughter is a friend of mine so I loved supporting this business. I had THE BEST experience with them when I ordered my high school graduation cake. I didn’t realize that the bakery had been sold since I have not been back for a few years. When I walked in today… it was pure chaos. There’s literally no other way to explain it. I was hoping to also speak to someone about the possibility of ordering a wedding cake. I had talked up this bakery to my fiancé, and he was so excited to try. My fiancé was hoping to get a specific flavor. I’m not sure if she was an owner but she noted that they didn’t want to “experiment on a wedding cake” which is fine, but she said it’s the holiday season and wouldn’t have time to. She automatically assumed that we needed something right now versus later… she never asked when I was getting married. Why that specific flavor? She did mention a cinnamon sugar buttercream which was interesting… but the tone of this conversation was pick what you want and leave.
While they try to be accommodating of circumstances, you can pretty much tell that they want your business and that’s about it. No connection to the customer and that reduces that chance of repeat business.
My fiancé was so heartbroken about the whole experience which for me was the most concerning. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back.

We bought the carrot cake for our wedding from Mrs. Goodman's for our September 2025 wedding and couldn't have been happier with our choice! We bought a small cake for cutting and a large sheet cake for around 100 people. We received so many compliments on the cake and thought the pricing was reasonable! Would highly recommend!

A few weeks ago, a dear friend surprised me with the cutest birthday cake from Mrs. Goodman’s, and it was just as delicious as it was adorable! She gave it to me at our book club meeting, so of course it was book-themed—and the detail was amazing. The cake itself was so moist, and the buttercream… absolutely heavenly.
I live about 30 minutes away, but I always make it a point to stop by when I’m in the area for their cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls (my dad’s favorite!). They are truly worth the drive. And now, after tasting that cake, I’ll definitely be making the trip for their cakes too!

We have been going to Mrs. Goodman's for years for our sweet treats and celebration goodies. Recently got a coconut cake for my mom's birthday and it was delectable.....vanilla cake with Goodman's signature buttercream and covered in coconut. Moist and delicious! My mom loved it! Can't wait for our next celebration! Service is always top notch too which makes our experience that much sweeter.
