About Pops 66

Pops 66 is a cool and fun place to stop on Route 66, combining a good restaurant with a store filled with a wide variety of colorful and unique soda flavors, as well as nostalgic and hard-to-find candies. The extensive soda inventory includes many choices, including local favorites like Cheerwine and Diet Dr. Pepper. Visitors can pick up just one flavor or even six packs of any soda they like. The restaurant serves a variety of meals, with the Cheese Burger with Bacon being a tasty option, though the 66Fire burger might need more ingredients. The Frito pie is also delicious. Service is polite and quick, with meals typically served within 10 minutes, and guests often get greeted by employees shortly after arriving. Although the bathrooms have been noted as dirty and in need of attention, the overall building and grounds are well-maintained. The eye-catching big coke bottle outside, which is 10 stories tall, is a fun attraction, making it a worthwhile stop for travelers and a perfect spot for kids to enjoy.

Pops has the friendliest people working for them! The food is delicious and they also have some super cute merchandise! Dede is the best!

This is a mandatory stop every time the kids and I take R66 to and from Chandler. Great food, amazing selection of pop, and wonderful employees.

I was appalled to see a children’s shirt in this store featuring the song “One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians”—a tune with racist origins in 19th-century minstrel shows mocking First Americans. When I brought this up to the store manager, hoping for dialogue, I was met with hostility. DeDe dismissed my concerns, said she “wasn’t offended when people called her an Indian,” insisted it was “just fun,” and then called me a “Karen” for speaking up.
