“Another option for average Vietnamese food in BA
This is a very small and busy restaurant located in a strip mall at the corner of Kenosha and Elm. I have to admit that Vietnamese food is not my favorite. I struggle with the taste of the fish sauce and can’t figure out what is so exciting about a bowl of Pho. I have tried to focus on one dish Bun Bo Hue in order to have some basis for comparison between Vietnamese restaurants. My wife likes the vermicelli bowls and the fish sauce. She has a good foundation for her comparison of this particular dish.
Let’s start with the appetizers “Spring Rolls with Grilled Pork.” Our order was delivered to the diner siting at the table next to us. After a few minutes and after the diner had taken a couple of bites of one of them, the waitress realized she had served the wrong table. She delivered his order of tofu spring rolls and took the partially eaten and full pork spring roll back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she brought out our order of pork spring rolls. Only God and the Kitchen staff know what really happened in the kitchen. We they were still good.
My wife liked her Bun Tom Nuong Cha Gio. This was a vermicelli noodles, vegetables, grilled shrimp and spring rolls, and of course the fish sauce. The grilled shrimp was really good!
Today’s special just happened to be Bun Bo Hue. Their version was nothing more than a noodle and beef brisket soup with chili sauce added. The only meat in it was the beef brisket. The soup was just not what you expect to get with Bun Bo Hue. It did have some of the classic vegetables on the side (basil, cilantro, a couple of jalapeno slices, and a slice of lime and bean sprouts.) It tasted Ok, but was a boring bowl of soup. No complex flavors from lemon grass and other seasonings.
Average food, average service, clean, very busy at noon, does a lot of takeout business.“

“I’ve always raved about the consistency of Redrocks food and the amazingness of their steak, until tonight. The Gorgonzola bleu cheese ribeye is my absolute favorite special they run. Severely dissatisfied in the quality of the steaks we received tonight. We took some friends out for dinner tonight and it was unanimous that the steak quality was seriously diminished from our previous several experiences. I had heard that there was new management; unsure if this would be the reason, the USDA grade of steak has been decreased. The cook was perfect but when your steak is as tough as a boot, it’s hard to enjoy. 3 out of 9 plates were served as ordered this visit, (majority had no substitutions) there has never been an issue in the past with this either. It’s hard to write this review when all the times I have been there have been superior quality. I hope our next visit will be redemption“

“I had my first açaí bowl ever today from the Rainbow Bowls food truck at the vintage market in Little Rock. It was quite possibly the greatest thing Ive ever eaten in my 33 years of existence. I’m so sad they are not located here permanently as I will be daydreaming of the berry bowl every single day now. 5 stars easily. The service was friendly as well ! I think I have a new addiction but I’m scared none of the local places we have here in Arkansas will be able to compete with their açaí bowl and I will just be let down lol.“

“I’ve visited this Longhorn location a few times, and overall, I’ve had a great experience each visit. As long as I get the right waitress, the service is usually excellent. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, making the dining experience enjoyable. There was only one time where the service wasn’t quite up to par, but every other time, it’s been wonderful. I usually order the filet mignon, and it’s always cooked perfectly to my liking—tender, juicy, and full of flavor.

There was one occasion when I decided to try the lamb chops, but I found that they weren’t to my taste. However, the staff handled it exceptionally well. They immediately offered to replace the dish with something else, and I went back to my usual filet mignon. The replacement steak was, once again, cooked to perfection, and they made sure to correct any mistakes without hesitation.

“I ordered through DoorDash and had a great experience. My ordered consisted of the spicy chicken sandwich meal, the honey pepper pimento sandwich and the kids chicken strip meal. This was my first time trying the honey pepper pimento sandwich since it was brought back and it was delicious. I will definitely be ordering it again. I had strawberry syrup added to my lemonade and it tasted like fresh strawberry lemonade. My order arrived hot and fresh.“
