“I chose Los Cabos in Tulsa for a small getaway, mainly because of the reviews and photos — it looked so beautiful and Instagram-worthy. When I arrived, the building looked exactly like the pictures: charming, festive, and decorated wonderfully for the holidays. The exterior has a hacienda-style design that looks gorgeous, and I’m pretty sure there’s a lake or small lagoon next to it. I visited at night during the cold season, but I can imagine how beautiful the view must be in the summer with the windows open and the outdoor balcony-style area.

Inside, the décor continues with a Mexican hacienda vibe, and with the Christmas decorations it feels like a warm hotel-lobby atmosphere. There’s a wishing fountain, a bar, and a spacious entrance area. Everything is beautifully arranged and well thought out. The staff was incredibly kind and very well trained — the service was excellent from the start. We were seated near one of the large windows overlooking the water, and even at night, the view was lovely. Overall, the place itself is truly stunning.

Now, about the food — as someone born and raised in Mexico, I didn’t find it to be authentic Mexican cuisine. It leans more toward Tex-Mex. I can’t say it wasn’t good, because it was tasty, but it didn’t give me that familiar, traditional feeling. It’s simply a different style.

With that said, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to Americans or anyone who enjoys Tex-Mex dishes in a beautiful setting. But for Mexicans looking for traditional flavors from home, this might not be the best match.“

“garlic knots were so hard they couldn't be chewed. could hardly cut with a knife. Cobb salad had way too much dressing and it was already mixed in. the chicken or what they called chicken on it was inedible. beware they charge you $2 for each little cup of sauce with the garlic knots and 2.95 for each pizza ingredient. way over priced and bad quality. we'll stick with hideaway from now on.“

I’m back again tonight, and I’m having the fajita salad with jalapeño ranch. Both times I had with chicken and had great and fast service. Josie was patient and kind, answering all of my questions. I hope I can find one of these establishments closer to my home, in north Frisco or north Plano Texas. Would be great for a quick to grab lunch, especially when time is tight! Very generous portions. He then took our pizza order. Our appetizers arrived warm not hot like they had been setting on the counter too long. We told our waiter and he went and got the manager who said do you want to box it up and take it home and warm it up? I told him no and he came back I will give it to you for free. I again said no I will pay for my beer, wife’s drink and raviolis. The manager would hardly make eye contact with my with and I and when he laid the bill on the table he said sorry as he walked off. The waiter wasn’t much better instead of playing games with the table behind us he should have been keeping a eye on our orders. I will continue to eat at hideaways just not the one on S. Memorial.“

“We love sushi. We can tell if the fish is fresh and high grade. Our dinner tonight was a disaster. First platter of sushi came to our table with black hair lying in the sauce. I returned my miso soup because it tasted like water. The sweet & sour soup wasn't much better. We ordered the Yellowfin Sashimi and the Spicy Ocean roll. Both were not good. The fish was not fresh. Bill was $85. What a waste of our hard earned money and date night. We will never return.“
