We also loved that our kids were welcome — they even had toys and games to keep them entertained while we visited! “This is an amazing place to get a caffeine boost. Their teas are the best! And who doesnt want a tea that looks neat. Also, the service is outstanding. Each visit, I am greeted with a smile and positive attitude from staff. I live about 1.5 hours away and have made special trips just to pick up dry tea orders because the customer service is phenomenal.”

They use all fresh ingredients and you can tell, including the organic heirloom corn tortillas We got: mini quesadilla plate with Barbacoa and steak tacos + rice , taco plate with abodada pork and pineapple with rice and beans, a kids meal with cheese quesadillas with double order beans, order of chips and 3 salsas AND a Mexican coke of course.”

“most of the time food is good and hot. but been in there a few times food was cold. they need 2 waitresses cause when its busy one person should not have to do both sides. the restrooms on one side are to small. the other bathrooms need remodeled badly. outside needs painted . and inside needs updated paint and other repairs. other than that waitresses are very friendly and the owner is too. just fix the place up and hire a new cook. and when the cook is done with the order dont just let the food get cold , you need a system where the waitress should be called when a order is up. so it comes out hot. just common sense”

My husband and I go get something cold to drink and try out a different desert every time. The new owners are very nice and take really good care of their customers. Service with a smile! “first time stopping here on the way home from Choctaw. coming from TX we never drive further out. wanting Mexican food this place popped up of places near us. don't let the outside fool you! pulling up it doesn't look like much, but from experience if the parking lot is full it's the place to eat!being from LA and spending lots of time in TJ I've been missing authentic Mexican street food I grew up on since moving to TX 30 years ago. THIS PLACE HAS IT!! didn't take pics(we dug in) soo good. large portions both hubby and I had to take some home. he got the barria tacos w/rice and beans, I got the taquitos also w/rice and beans. I don't think either one of us said a word because our mouths were always full of food. the horchata was chefs kiss!! we will definitely be back!! all the employees were so nice, place was very clean and packed!!.”

“The 50s decor was awesome. Loved seeing all the wall art from years ago. The food was great! My eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. I don't recall what the potatoes were called, but delicious. The biscuits and gravy reminded me of breakfast with my grandma when I was a child. The fact that they have sliced tomatoes that I could have added to it.... so many more memories just seeing it on the menu. My son said his omelet was great. Everyone working in the diner this morning was great, and our server was the best! She made this morning's breakfast about more than the decor and the menu... We chat about old memories which honestly made our breakfast stop even more epic. I used to think my family was the only one with green onions on the table for every meal. I'll forever appreciate her sharing that she had them too. I've always told people there's something about Oklahoma that keeps bringing me back... I'm pretty sure 1 reason was so I could discover Boomarang Diner💙 They have great food at fair prices. It's definitely a place worth checking out.”

The sushi is much better than the poke bowls in my opinion, but that’s mostly just because the poke bowls come with iceberg lettuce instead of spring mix— that’s probably just me being pedantic but the iceberg lettuce throws the entire vibe off. As a texture thing, I also don’t personally prefer the crab salad as an alternative to the sticks of imitation crab found in several of the spicy rolls, but I know there are people who way prefer it that way so it’s chill. The guy who makes the sushi is so kind, they were out of a kind of roll I was hoping for one time and he made one specially for me, which I hadn’t expected him to do. Have been here several times and will keep coming back, though they are slightly pricier than other comparable grocery store sushi chains.”

“I am an SE student and I love this place and the student workers (especially Jerica). The food and drinks are always good, but service depends on which older person is working. Today I came in around 10:40. There was one person inside and one in the drive through when I placed my order for a large cold brew. After I ordered it started to pick up. I would really like to know why I had to watch at least 5 cars in drive thru and over a dozen people inside get their food before I got my one drink. I had to wait almost 25 minutes. In fact, half of the people inside finished their food and left before I got my ONE DRINK. Again, I love this place so I’m not sure why this happened today but it was absolutely ridiculous. Apparently make sure you get in the drive thru if all you want is a drink or you will be waiting for half an hour.”

“I love this restaurant in particular because it’s decorated exactly the way it was when they originally opened. No updates—just old-time vintage booths, paint, and décor. If you’re on the “fluffy” side, I’d recommend a table and chairs, as the booths are a tad narrow!

I love the food. I always order two pieces of fish with lots of crumbly bits and dip it in malt vinegar. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

“When I visited on Saturday, I didn't expect the side of kidness served with our delicious lunch but wanted to share my experience. Below is my post from my own page detailing the kind of folks we have here owning and staffing our local Firehouse Subs. Highly recommend for a fast, but delicious lunch or dinner, impressive decor and wonderful, caring service. Thanks to the Pruitt family, Tessa and staff for the experience. You're setting a standard that sets you, your staff and shop head and shoulders above any others! Original post 12/19/20: ---Running around town this morning/afternoon on Christmas countdown duty and stopped by Firehouse Subs to pick up some lunch for myself, my oldest, Brendon and my dad. So for those of you that haven't been inside or to your local neighborhood Firehouse Subs shop, they decorate their dining area inside with photos and murals etc. of your local station houses and Firemen through the years from your area showing them in action doing the heroic work they're known for. Our Durant shop has some very special memorabilia and the hand painted mural of DHS's class of '89 classmate and Chief Warrant Officer Brady Rudolf with 2 local Policemen, and a couple of our Lion mascots, all standing in front of Brady's memorial in front of Durant High School, is worth your visit alone! But back to my other piece of the story.....So as I waited for the sandwiches, I had to make a quick trip to the powder room from running everywhere with no breaking all morning and after one giant D.P. Having never used their "facilities" there before located in the back of the shop, I had no idea about or had ever seen the framed vintage photos of the Department through the years that line the hallway to the restrooms. I was tickled pink to see this photo immediately, showing my Grandfather (blue) and Great Uncle Lawrence (red). Our family is of course proud that my Pappa Bill was once the Department Chief of Durant. Unfortunately though, the only remaining copies we have of these bits of our family history are so faded and worn that they now need restoration work. And with that thought, the 'ol lightbulb upstairs flickered some 😆 but finally lit up and I grabbed an employee up front. As I drug her away from her work, I explained that these were my relatives and it would make my day to find out where they had the copies of those pictures made so I could also have several made for my surviving uncles and cousins for Christmas. She was so sweet but had no idea where they came from and I expected that she probably wouldn't. But then she says..."Let me call my owner and see if he has that information." I tried to just wave it all off by telling her not to trouble herself, that they were busy and I could call about it later on some other day. But I think she understood what this picture meant to me and mine and put herself in my place because she seemed to be on such a cheerfully determined mission, insisting that I was no trouble at all as she dissappeared into the back office. So I waited just a little while studying up close at my Pappa Bill and this little piece of Durant's and my family's history. It was emotional enough before I heard her open the office door and I turned around to see her coming to me and holding a pristene, poster quality 16×20 copy of the photo. "I called my owner." she said, "He told me to tell you we just happened to still have this one." And as she hands it to me she says, "He wants you to have it and told me to tell you 'Merry Christmas to you and your family'." I was speechless because I thought she was just going to lay it on a table and let me look at the detail I'd never before seen in our family's much smaller, faded and aged photograph, or that she might let me take a picture of it with my phone. Never expected such a simple but incredibly thoughtful gesture when all I'd done for them was to interrupt them as they were going about their job”
