I was disappointed that I ended up in the ER yesterday due to an allergic reaction. I bought a spicy crab sushi bowl at Union Market and read the label, but it didn’t mention any allergens. I thought the crab would be fine for me, but I was wrong. It was imitation crab mixed with blue crab or something added by accident. I’m not sure what it was. I almost died that my symptoms started slowly over a couple of hours: shortness of breath, dizziness, lightheadedness, and a fever higher than normal. I couldn’t type long sentences and kept repeating, “I feel not good,” with words coming out funny. My heart rate was fast, uneven, too. Luckily, my professor was with me and called 911, which saved my life. At the ER, I found out I have anaphylaxis and can’t eat certain crabs. They gave me an epinephrine shot to revive me.
I love this store, but I recommend they add clear allergen warnings on labels. That way, I could avoid buying unsafe food. I’ll need to look for allergy-free foods at Union Market in the future. I hope the owner will listen and change their mind.

Overpriced, they close early often without notice, they treat their staff horribly and it shows, you can’t use meal swipes except for the last 3 hours they’re open (if they don’t close early). A wonderful example of how OU strategically limits their students from spending their board funds freely.

Union Market is great for a quick meal. The salad bar is always well-stocked, and it's a good value. There are also hot soups and a hot plate line that are different every day. You can get snacks or a meal in about 5 minutes, and it's usually faster than the other food lines in the Union.
