“My husband and I stopped at The Collective after racing at Andretti’s. There were signs to follow for JT’s BBQ that said “Now Open.” Since it was our first time we decided to try something new. So, we followed the arrows, and met the Owner JT at the counter to order. I got the special which was his Stuffed Spud that is filled with your choice of 4oz of meat (I went with the Pulled Pork), cheese and onion. My husband got a brisket sandwich and after JT handed us our buzzer, we went and filled our drink cups up. The Agave Vanilla Cream Soda is AMAZING!! When we sat down at the bar top that lined the street with floor to ceiling windows that look straight at Midtown dog park. It was already the best date ever, but that about made it even better if at all possible. JT brought us our trays and we dug into the best damn BBQ we’ve had in a while. Not to mention, when he came to check on us he gave my husband a free chicken wing the had just smoked trying out a Spicy Honey BBQ sauce on them. My husband said it tasted like a spicy pineapple. “The main thing to remember about Beaker's is that it operates on a student campus facility. It has pretty good food, and most of the staff are friendly and accommodating. It gets busy at lunch time, so it is best to get there early. There is a Chik-fil-a, with limited items. There's also pre-made salads and fruit cups, and a sandwich, potato, and taco salad line, which is pretty good, in addition to other items. You can also get soups, too. There's a Tapingo app you can download, but it is hit or miss on whether Beaker's will have the items they advertise and if they will fulfill your request in a timely manner.“
