We very much enjoy Iron Star, and it is our favorite barbecue joint in Oklahoma City. Overall, I recommend it highly and we will continue to go to this restaurant. However, although the staff is very helpful, it seems that after getting the meal they lack consistent continuous service.
Nice place and I know people must like it because it's been there forever, but we just weren't that impressed. The things that were best were the mashed potatoes. The pulled pork was a disappointment.
We loved the burnt ends, Mac and cheese side and deviled eggs appetizer. The menu overall looked delicious and I wish we had more time in town to try it. The bbq sauce was excellent. And very kind server I think her name is Skye. Glad we found it!
