One of the first things I noticed upon entering was the bar which broadcasted sports channels on flat screen TVs. Not my cup of tea, really, and it's especially unexpected in a Japanese restaurant. I think it's distracting and takes away from the atmosphere.

Other than that, the place looked nice, with interesting decorations and a relatively calm, distinguished character.

My server was quick and friendly. I enjoyed her laid-back, personable attitude.

I ordered the Takoyaki, the Ninja Roll, and the Bagel Roll. I love to order the Takoyaki whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant; it sets the mood for the rest of the meal. I am pleased to say that the Takoyaki was quite lovely. It had a light, crisp texture, a good taste, and was not too chewy. However, I wasn't a big fan of the fish flakes, and I have seen better eel-sauce-to-mayo ratios before.

The Bagel Roll was pretty good, although it was not spectacular. I enjoyed the Ninja Roll less. I can't say I will order these rolls again. I would give the other rolls a shot.

My bill was $40.19. Would I pay for this experience again? No, no... not really. While my experience was relatively positive, it was nothing home to write about. Just another restaurant in the sea of restaurants out there, offering decent food without any defining characteristics to make the establishment stand out. I must stress, though, the place is quite nice! I suppose it would be nice to check out if you are near the area, or if you had a friend or two (...or three) to accompany you.

This is Japanese food in fine form. There is an amazing array of sushi rolls, excellent ramen, and my favorite at lunch, the bento box with miso soup. So good!

4 stars for ramen. 5 stars for sushi
I had the tonkatsu ramen here and was pleasantly surprised by their spicy chili oil, it added a great kick and tasted amazing! However, the ramen itself reminded me more of general Asian noodles than traditional Japanese ramen. The portion was generous, so you’ll definitely leave full, but I felt the flavor didn’t quite match the price. On the bright side, the sushi was excellent, fresh and flavorful, definitely worth trying!

Upon entering Masa the zen like atmosphere immediately set my mind at ease, I felt so far away yet right at home! The modern interior is not only fresh but very lively and clean! I walked in about 2 minutes before closing time, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They still served me and made sure I felt welcomed and not rushed! I ordered a Dragon roll and a Boston roll. The flavors were outstanding, you could taste each individual ingredient but they also melded together with balance and harmony! Their wasabi was real and the ginger was so fresh and crisp! The best sushi I have tried so far in the metro area, and reasonably priced!

Very tasty food!! Seems a bit overpriced for most menu items but nice to enjoy on occasion.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time. It was a busy night, but we were seated quickly and our food came out quickly as well. Very delicious!!

I had been craving unagi for weeks now. I've been checking out other places and just looking around. I finally chose to order here at Masa.

I ordered the unagi don. I got 7 pieces of unagi, sushi rice, some seaweed salad, and a soup. To go

For 28$. I definitely think this is a bit more on the pricey side but the eel is fatty and the sauce is nice. I feel like adding only a bit of seaweed salad and 2 pieces of pickled diakon doesn't really justify like 6 more bucks.

The only problem is the sushi rice is a little too sour and clashes with the unagi too much.

The sweetness of the sauce, savoryness of the seaweed salad, savoriness of the eel itself fits together quite well, but the sushi rice should be replaced by regular steamed rice. It would taste better that way.

Or maybe my batch of sushi rice had waaaayy too much rice vinegar.

Safe to say I'm not really satisfied with my meal, I'm actually quite disappointed. I'm probably gonna move on to the next place and hopefully they don't over do it with the rice vinegar.

Been here twice by myself. I intend to be a regular. Everyone’s very nice & provides perfect service. The wagyu and toro tataki is yummy. Red maple and wagyu special roll is amazing. Their cocktails taste very good. Heaven on earth is my fav.

The food was absolutely delicious and was served hot and fresh! The environment is modern and laidback with very pretty lighting. A very nice cozy and intimate place that is also very clean. Definitely recommend the crab rangoons!

I can’t believe I still haven’t written a review on Masa sushi and ramen because I have never been disappointed by their food. Over the few years I’ve gone, I’ve always brought someone new and they leave with full and satisfied bellies.

How I judge a sushi restaurant will be good is if their Takoyaki, one of my favorite Japanese appetizers, is good. It came out hot and perfect with the right amount of sauce to pair with it.

I wish I remembered which rolls I got because I want the cooked roll again but it had a eel and avocado top. 11/10
The raw sushi roll was the Ninja roll and it was pleasant! It went well with the cooked roll we got but I’ll definitely be trying something different next time. 7/10
The Tonkatsu broth was not as deep and rich of a broth as I was expecting. A bit watered down and could use more umami flavor but the pork belly was just downright delicious. The egg was well marinated and something I always like ti pay attention to is the chopping size of their green onions. Well done.
Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in the area!
