The food was great. Service was awesome. The reason I am giving them such a low rating is because of the place itself. We had a party of 10, which would have filled a full hibachi booth. But they ended up putting us with another family of 3, which left 3 in our party in an awkward middle area that didn't have the hibachi grill in front of them. We had 7 kids with us so decided to just make it work instead of asking for another booth.To make matters worse, we were put in the back room where it was SO HOT. It was so hot we were all super uncomfortable. It felt nicer outside in the 92 degree weather than inside. When I asked if their AC wasn't working I was told it just got hot where we were sat. I've been to multiple hibachi restaurants and I understand the area around the grill gets hot, but this was to another level. I've never experience this before at any restaurant, and not at any hibachi restaurant. I loved the food, but I would never go back due to the heat we experienced. Both men in my party left with their backs drenched in sweat.

Price is great for lunch. $7 for hibachi but an additional 2.50 for fried rice. Kind of loud with their chefs performance at tables

The servers and cashiers are very polite and accommodating to food allergies. My favorite was the steak and the fried rice, very good. I got the chicken combination, I just was not a fan of the chicken. The atmosphere was a bit dark and backed into a corner. I was a little uncomfortable, but we made it work for the experience. My daughter enjoyed it and she is 16, so with that in mind I Loved It!

I came to Sumo II for my Birthday. Reservation was for a birthday, we got put into the Birthday room, but that was it. Neither the server nor the chef asked who's Birthday it was. They continued like is was a normal visit. The chef went through the motions, but had no energy. I watched the other Birthday tables around us get special treatment while we got treated as standard. I was hoping something would be asked at some point but when the chef wheeled away the tray, I realized he didn't care. Afterwards, I complained to the manager and I got excuse after excuse. The chef is new(been there a whole month, he should have the hang of it), he's shy (this is an entertainment business, you can't be shy in this), if I had told them it was my Birthday they would have treated me well(my reservation was a birthday and we were in the Birthday room, it should not be on the customer to wave their hand and pipe in out of the blue, especially when I heard the other chefs ask THEIR tables). A couple of years ago I had an amazing experience here but I guess that was a fluke because I've never gotten it again and this experience was the most disappointing. As good as the food is, I won't be coming back.
