Thunder Roadhouse Cafe

It wasn't what I thought it was, but it was alright. It's a bar with off-track betting, and apparently, they let you smoke there. Being I have a lung disease, I wasn't happy. Didn't realize that when we went, or I wouldn't have. When I looked it up, it leaned advertising more toward it being a restaurant. Nice waitresses, clean. NOT kid friendly, ADA compliant. If you like to bet, this is your place.

This place has a vintage feel that some might consider a negative, but there’s a nostalgic feel about it. Slide up to the bar and feel the familiar bar rail. The staff was super nice. They do allow smoking, so that is something to be aware of.

While the restaurant's ambiance might not immediately inspire cravings for a gourmet cheeseburger, their food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. Laurie, in particular, provides exceptional service. Her friendly demeanor and attention to detail make dining here a pleasant experience. It's clear that she approaches her work with a positive attitude and could easily serve at any Michelin Star restaurant and kill it!

Head inside and find a table, don’t wait to be seated but….

NO ONE UNDER 21 ALLOWED INSIDE!!! No carrying your firearm either. This is a bar/burger joint and OFF TRACK BETTING establishment.

So now that that’s out of the way, here’s the good points. Well OTB and no kids can be a good thing. It’s just been so long since I’ve been in a food establishment that has ashtrays on every table that it’s hard for me to back up 30+ years and think it’s ok. That said, there is outside seating for when the weather is nice or if you want fresh air.

The food is good with a good variety of burgers, sandwiches and other options. All reasonable priced and hearty proportions.

As a side I hade onion rings. They were hand battered and delicious if not slightly over seasoned (that means too much salt for you people from Kansas). Try these. The waitress assured me the saltiness was a one off.

They also have fried mushrooms. I’m very excited to try these next time.

If you get there between 11:00 and 2:00 you can have the brunch menu. Try the chicken fried steak and eggs!

Also, no beer on tap but a plentiful selection of domestic and Mexican bottled beers.

Service was prompt and friendly.

Overall a great “roadhouse” experience and I recommend this place to anyone looking for good bar food where you can bet on the ponies while waiting on your order.

Especially if you’re a smoker.

Walked in and walked out. Smells like a giant ashtray. They allow smoking. This is NOT an actually restaurant. It is a nasty bar the serves food. Just avoid.

Went there for the first time yesterday. The bartender said they had no IPA beer of any kind and seemed proud of it. I left and went to another bar nearby.

We have traveled east-west coast looking for the best Indian Tacos. Thunder Roadhouse, by far is at the top 3! Wonderful and delicious chili beans and sauce, fresh toppings as a taco should be and fried flat bread light and fluffy, no grease! Thank You. Had to call each on reviews for Best Indian Tacos in Oklahoma City, many mentioned did not even have Indian Taco on their menu. Patron beware, no fear though, worth the trip to Thunder Roadhouse!

Chicken fried steak sandwich was so hard to bite through, it was almost impossible and had no flavor except grease.
Smoking inside where food is served just doesn't cut it for me anymore.
Although you can bet the horses here!

Well, on my first and second visit, I got great service from the bartender, and her name was Joyce. The second visit was Laurie she recommended great food items to eat, but her bartending was phenomenal. The way she recommended different drinks to go with my cigar.

They claim to be open until 10pm but with multiple customers there the bartender asks everyone to close out tabs and closes up early at 8:30p saying it's to slow to stay open.
