*UPDATE*I really hate to drop a star, but at this point I am annoyed with the service the last few times we have been here. We always order the same thing, the 25 tender family meal with 3 sides and 6 rolls. We always get it with 2 mashed potatoes and gravy and a family sized okra. We always add on either 1/2 dozen or a full dozen rolls. We used to just get the family sized gravy and I would add on 2-3 zing sauces, but lately we have been getting 2 individual gravy, 2 zing and 2 honey mustard instead... This time we only got 22 tenders instead of 25, 5 rolls instead of 6 and we were missing either the 2 individual gravy, or the 2 that were supposed to come with the potatoes. Not sure which, but there were only 2 tiny things of gravy instead of 4, and we were missing the extra 1/2 dozen rolls. We did check for the okra and extra rolls before leaving this time because of what happened last time, and it was fixed, but we didn't check inside the chicken box or the sauces. For almost $60 I would appreciate actually getting everything that was paid for. The time before this we ordered the same thing, but had to come back for the okra as the only small box in the bag had the extra rolls. Then the time before that we had to come back for the extra rolls... So, unfortunately we now feel like we must go through everything before leaving each time. We will continue to come here as we still think this place has the best food like this in town. But we will be unpacking and going through everything before leaving... That said, each time the issue was fixed if we came back, this time we didn't bother going back for the 3 strips, roll or gravy. I am thinking that they were thinking of the 20 piece family meal or something even through we did get the 3 sides. But Idk...I am hoping that the managers or owner sees this and hopefully makes a point to talk to employees about double checking large orders, maybe using a checklist and/or laying everything out and waiting till it's all there to pack it or something. I understand that if busy that would be hard, although they were not busy today when we arrived to pick up the order and I ordered hours ahead of pick up time as usual to hopefully give them time to prepare. But they could use a simple checklist and mark off items as they are bagged or something to keep track of what they are doing.*ORIGINAL REVIEW*They made excellent use of the old taco-mayo building, by the time they were done remodeling it I didn't even recognize it!Omg I am so happy this place opened!!! Out of all the chicken places that have come to town in the past few years this one is the best one yet! With the exception of our Chick-Fil-A ... It would be a hard decision to try and choose between chick-fil-a and golden chick lol.. So I won't! To be honest it would just come down to what I was in the mood for... The chicken strips here are perfect... A light, thin, very crispy batter but not hard to bite or chew... Tender juicy and flavorful inside.... Absolutely love the spicy strips!! The sides we have tried have all been really good and we are in love with the rolls... It is a bit pricey for a large family if you order the regular meals but they do offer a more cost-friendly option with their "Lucky" family meal options. I think its the Lucky13 that we usually get.

listen, i hate being that person that pulls into the drive thru 10 minutes before close. but man i was craving some golden chick last night at 10:45. i was a speed racer (literally) to get there by 10:50, then sat at the drive thru speaker for 3-4 minutes before an employee gets on and says he cashed his drawer and he couldn’t take my order. they were closed but their open sign was on. pain ??

A chain that we did not have in other places I have lived. Staff is always very friendly, and most of the food is fantastic. The roasted chicken is astoundingly good, probably the best chicken of any variety you can buy in Stillwater. It's like roasted chicken and blackened chicken had a love child. The meat is tender and seasoned all the way to the bone. When I have visitors from out of town staying with me I usually get some, and they always remark on how good it is. Very good chicken sandwiches and chicken fingers as well. The sides I have tried were also top notch.There are better places for bone-in fried chicken, which is why I only gave it four stars. The bone-in fried chicken is a bit bland, which is odd for a place where most of the menu items are so well seasoned. Only slightly better than Walmart deli fried chicken, if that frame of reference means anything to you. However, literally everything else I have tried on the menu is really good.Great prices, great food and friendly service, highly recommended.

Once you get past the Confused Cashier. You're in for a Treat. The soft fresh baked roll. With that Crispy Coated Fried Chicken. Puts most Restaurant Fried chicken to shame. Kentucky Fried should take lessons. But then it goes downhill. The Sides are on par with all chain Fastfood Fried chicken places. This is where they are lacking. Tenders are on point also.
Allyson is amazing, so kind and quick in the drive thru! She made my day with her smile and reminded me about their student discount. They are truly some of the best staff at golden chick!

I came here today around 3:30. there was no line so i was weary about going because lack of business could mean lack of fresh food, but i was pleasantly surprised. i got a 4 piece tender meal and my partner got the 9 piece wicked wing meal. both of our orders of chicken were so fresh, hot, crispy and juicy. it was maybe the best chicken i’ve ever had from a quick service restaurant. our sides were fresh and delicious, even the rolls were so soft and sweet. absolutely amazing experience and it exceeded all expectations. the employees were so kind at the window and i really have to give credit where it’s due. they were ROCKING it today. i will definitely be coming back because of my experience today.

my dad ordered big red and a Dr Pepper 4 wings and 4 original tenders AND Gravy, BUT instead i get a a whole different thing we ordered our order was completly changed. And the prices just make it worse cause we spent $27 on a whole different meal we didn't even pay for. And I love that place it was my favorite restaurant but this is the worst experience I've ever had. I really hope this place gets better

A chain that we did not have in other places I have lived. Staff is always very friendly, and most of the food is fantastic.
