Went to Calaveras Mexican Grill for lunch today at 1 PM, our order was taken by Brenda at the counter. We got our salsas, onions and escabeche (delicious!) at the salsa bar — nice selections. We picked a booth and waited for food to be delivered. I ordered 3 red tacos and they were excellent (especially dipped in consommé) and lemonade. My bride had two ground beef tacos and horchata. We loved that they fried their own corn tortillas!! And for those that care, the men’s restroom was very clean and no trash lying around.

The carnitas and guacamole were exceptionally salty, and the carnitas were particularly dry; the rice and beans were bland and mushy; the service and atmosphere were great but that doesn't make up for overpriced, not good Mexican food

Food was AMAZING! Love the variety of salsas. Their queso isn’t the greatest in the world, but it’s not bad at all. Their rice and beans could be better but the entre’s were awesome! Our kids had the quesadillas and loved them. My husband got a fajita burrito and inhaled it. I got the red birria tacos & they were so so so delicious! When I go back to Tulsa, I’m definitely going there!
I love coming to Calaveras. Their food is fantastic! I discovered Birria here before the taco craze hut years ago.. I had NO idea what I'd stumbled into, but I l love pot roast and this was something on an entirely different level. I go addicted. I just came by the other day for Birria tacos and, good golly.. the food is still great.The restaurant feels a little cramped, and when someone comes in the front door, there's no way to hide from the temperature that follows them. But you're not coming here for a 5 star catered experience. You'll find some authentic and fantastic dishes here, and that's why you show up.
Not as good as I remember it being in the past but it was alright. Prices are a little high for the portion size but food was good and the salsa bar is nice.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service! Their food rocks. They have some avocado salsa on their salsa bar that is amazing. You could put it on an old tire and it would be great. Had the Birria Tacos no grease just amazing tacos. I will be back for more good Grub!
