Food was AMAZING! Love the variety of salsas. Their queso isn’t the greatest in the world, but it’s not bad at all. Their rice and beans could be better but the entre’s were awesome! Our kids had the quesadillas and loved them. My husband got a fajita burrito and inhaled it. I got the red birria tacos & they were so so so delicious! When I go back to Tulsa, I’m definitely going there!
I love coming to Calaveras. Their food is fantastic! I discovered Birria here before the taco craze hut years ago.. I had NO idea what I'd stumbled into, but I l love pot roast and this was something on an entirely different level. I go addicted. I just came by the other day for Birria tacos and, good golly.. the food is still great.The restaurant feels a little cramped, and when someone comes in the front door, there's no way to hide from the temperature that follows them. Went to Calaveras Mexican Grill for lunch today at 1 PM, our order was taken by Brenda at the counter. We got our salsas, onions and escabeche (delicious!) at the salsa bar — nice selections. We picked a booth and waited for food to be delivered. I ordered 3 red tacos and they were excellent (especially dipped in consommé) and lemonade. My bride had two ground beef tacos and horchata.
