I've been told about Popeyes for years, and how great the food is. When my father moved to the area, all he could talk about was how much he missed Popeyes and how often he and his late wife would eat there. The day finally arrived when an appointment brought us to the same town as a Popeyes and i could hardly wait to surprise him! Well, based on our experience at this restaurant, my friends are all liars and my father has lost hope in humanity.
My spicy chicken sandwich was bland, and fried yesterday in last week's oil, and left to stay warm on top of the coffeemaker.
His fried chicken meal was typical chicken, nothing outstanding.
Service was ok.
Why 2 stars instead of 1? The fries were slightly better than average. And the soda was cold.

Just like any Popeyes, the service is as bad as the food is good. If you’re ready to spend a lot of time in line is worth going to.
I am a Popeyes fan. Maybe more than I should. The spicy bone in and red beans w/ rice is my goto. Also like the spicy sandwiches and the 6 piece very spicy bone in wings. I go to both locations near me, 41st and 71st @ BA51. Unfortunately both locations have poor service. There is a lot of turn over so there are always new people training and things are slow and in chaos. Luckily the quality of the food does not suffer. A word to management, stay out of the back areas. You need to be upfront helping those new people and seeing that people are getting their orders correct and timely. Me and other customers have watched those servers struggle and not a lead or manager around to support them. YOU need to do better to support your front line servers.
