French onion soup was amazing! Steak for 2 cooked perfectly yet lacked some flavor and salt. Service great. 4.5 stars. No big complaints at all. Just couldn't pinpoint what the steak needed/lacking.
I'm a huge fan of the Tavern, but I think they had the post-holiday blues last weekend. It's my go-to for a night out, and I was celebrating, so I got THE BURGER. The one. It sounded so good after a day of camaraderie and cocktails. The consistently great, always tasty, Tavern burger. IDK, but something was off. It wasn't sauced much at all and my friend's was overcooked - which was a bummer because I bragged so much about it and it was their first time trying...
Everything was great, from the bacon infused old fashioned to the dessert. The roasted beet appetizer was excellent and creative, the salmon was very tasty with wonderful flavors, and the fish and chips were very good. It was very busy and our server was a bit overwhelmed, as there were a few large parties that night. She was very good, just a bit harried by the time dessert came.
