Excellent selection of craft ales on tap plus cans to take out.There is a nice atmosphere to the place and staff very friendly and informative. Well worth a visit.

Super cool venue with enormous brewing equipment in full view. Large, open space with many tables. Large bar with amazing and friendly staff who gladly offer beer samples if requested. No food service yet, but freshly made popcorn always available. Lucky patrons can grab an outdoor table overlooking the main street and bask in the afternoon sun, which is open to, and almost reaches, one side of the bar as well. What a great addition to the growing town of Bancroft!!

Since it opened, Bancroft Brewery has been a staple of my annual cottage trip with the family. Quality products and service have kept me coming back every year. I especially like the growlers, which I would stock up on to bring a piece of the town home with me. Unfortunately, I would often forget the bottles at home when I returned the following year. This year, I made sure to pack the empties to return to the store, but to my surprise, they refused to accept them because they had sticker labels rather than the newer printed-on-the-bottle version. The reason for not accepting the returns is that I might have put those labels on bottles acquired from some other location myself. So, to be clear, I would have to take the time to find random growler bottles and purchase the materials to print counterfeit labels to place on those bottles so that I could return them to Bancroft for a deposit refund. This level of mistrust in the clientele is disheartening. To think that I would go through that much trouble in order to defraud Bancroft Brewery of a few cents for some bottles I’m returning for the deposit is absurd. So, I left without purchasing any product and dropped off my box of “counterfeit” growlers on their patio. I don’t need to be made to feel like a fraud or a criminal when I walk into someone’s store, and for that reason, they have lost a client. The reason for two stars rather than one is because they still have quality products, but clearly their faith in their clientele has been eroded for some reason.

I always look forward to my visit to Bancroft Brewing Co! I’ve been going for a few years now, and I always find their quality to be very consistent. Generally speaking, you’ll find more “down the middle” beers and less wild experiential stuff, which I appreciate. Their to go fridge is always well stocked, and I would encourage everyone to sit down for a pint too of whatever’s on tap. The last time I visited the patio was dog friendly, but, I would call to double check if that is still the case before bringing your furry friend.
