“First time getting pizza from here and called in because my kiddo has a severe allergy. They were very accommodating on the phone and in store with particular attention to the allergy concerns. The gentleman at the store front was very kind and went above and beyond!

“My sister told me we had to try these wings and she wasn't wrong. Takes a little while to get them as they are made fresh to order but they are well worth the wait. My sister opted for mild wings with mild sauce as she told me that she had the honey garlic in the past and they were a tad spicy.

Well, I wish you all could see her face eating these "mild" wings. It was my entertainment for the evening. She ate about a half a tub of sour cream with five wings.

These wings are apparently seasoned with Haitian seasonings. They didn't come here to play. A mild is definitely NOT mild in my books. But it's not just hot either. There's a whole lot of flavour going on. I was secretly glad they had some heat and some kick to them. They make an inferno wing and I think that might just put my sister into the hospital. I will have to read the rest of the reviews for someone who survived those wings. There must be a waiver.

Stepping into BBQ Golden Grill felt like an invitation to explore the essence of West African flavors, each dish embodying the heart and soul of the region’s cuisine.

Our journey began with Jollof Rice—a vibrant mountain of rice colored with tomatoes and spices, each bite bursting with smoky warmth and a hint of spice. Beside it lay the Turmeric Basmati Rice with Vegetables—a golden masterpiece that brought a lighter, fragrant touch to the table, with every grain delicately infused with turmeric and dotted with colorful veggies.

In the center of our spread, the Goat with Onions and Peppers took the spotlight. The tender, slow-cooked goat, accented by caramelized onions and bell peppers, was a symphony of savory flavors. It was as though every piece had been lovingly marinated and sautéed to perfection, offering a rich, hearty taste.

For a sweet and savory contrast, we enjoyed golden, crispy Fried Plantains—their caramelized edges adding a sweet, tropical flavor that complemented the meal perfectly. And, of course, a plate of French Fries provided a familiar and comforting crunch, bridging flavors across the platter.

To complete the experience, we savored a hearty African Pepper Soup (seen in the second photo). This flavorful broth made with groundnuts (ubunyobwa), with tender pieces of chicken and chunks of bananas (igitoki), brought warmth and comfort, wrapping up our meal in a cozy embrace.

Our evening at BBQ Golden Grill was a feast for the senses—a fusion of bold, comforting, and vibrant flavors that felt like a celebration of culture, family, and the joy of sharing a meal together. This restaurant is truly a gem, and we left feeling both satisfied and enriched by the experience.

One thing I would change, however, is the stinginess with the sauce. They give them out in those take out sauce containers, and they're only half filled. Use them on 2 tenders, and they're done. At the very least, give 2 when someone orders 5.“

“Our family dined at Gabriel's in Kanata on July 30th with our Autistic son, and family members and a close friend and her baby.

We were a bit nervous going as Samantha and Zeyad had just sold Gabriel's, and we were hesitant as to how the new owners would be.

Samantha and Zeyad graciously made a reservation on our behalf and briefed the new owners about our son

We are so thankful for both the former owners and new owners taking the time to ensure our Autistic son, and family and friend had a wonderful dining experience.

The service was wonderful, as was the atmosphere.

One of our servers was Samantha's niece, who was absolutely amazing! She was efficient, and friendly, as was the other server.

Massive thanks to the Gabriel's Team, former and new, for making our trip to our son's favourite restaurant a highlight of our trip.

“Love the chicken but a few employees at the Hunt club rd Ottawa On location need to learn how to count ... been there 3 times since reopening (after the pandemic and even before it) They seem to short change me on my 5 piece tender combos the last 2 times visiting that store... i got 3 small pieces and hardly any fries and always missing the blackened ranch dip sauces thats in my meal and my husband's meal, he ordered the same 5 piece combo tenders with fries with the blackened ranch dips and he received 2 large pieces of tenders and half a box of fries and missing his biscuits. well the hunt club rd was to far to go back to complain (we bought our meal on the drive home from shopping yesterday and waited to eat at home). Plus with the strict serving restricitions in place for restaurants to be able to serve public... 4 customers to be in store at a time well there was more than 4 and it seems to be more of a social club /party (8 young people ... teens maybe early 20's there and no masks on even though it states no masks no entry on a notes thru out the location). Anyhow the HUNT CLUB RD LOCATION ...I would not recommend due to the lack of service and health and safety violations i saw yesterday!“

“By far the best take-out/delivery pizza place. I grew up out in BC where Panago was everywhere - kinda like Pizza Pizza is in Ontario. But the difference between Panago and Pizza Pizza is the quality. Panago crust is crispy yet soft, the toppings generous, and the flavour is just right!
