We love Sakana House—it’s our go-to spot for “Birthday Sushi.” It started a few years ago, and now it’s almost a given that whenever a friend or family member has a birthday, we end up celebrating here.

It’s all-you-can-eat, the tables are spacious, and the booths easily fit six adults. They can also set up larger tables for bigger groups.

They also have a wonderful selection of sake, with both hot and cold options to choose from, which pairs perfectly with the meal.

Tip: Order your hot items first, then your appetizers. That way, while you’re enjoying your appetizers and salads, your hot dishes will arrive in a timely manner at your table.

It is fast food sushi, nothing more. No cream cheese in the sushi, and you can’t taste the difference between different chef sets.
Expensive, and not worth it, honestly.

Took Daughter for lunch to celebrate her 19th Birthday, Food, Service and Atmosphere is outstanding. Hands down the Best All you can Eat Sushi lunch in Barrie.

The Gentleman (Owner/Manager) had such an incredible presence. He walked around each table and spread such radiant, positive energy. I've never experienced such an amazing, vibrant, uplifting level of service.

Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion

Amazing Experience at Sakana House!
I had a wonderful dining experience at Sakana House Japanese Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was attentive, polite, and very professional. I also really loved the atmosphere; it was warm, inviting, and perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine. Definitely worth the price!

My boyfriend and I went for dinner on Tuesday night. We arrived at 8:58pm knowing that the restaurant closes at 10:00. We walked in and we were told that they close at 10:00 and we had only 15 minutes to order. We placed our order and again our server reminded us that they close at 10:00. Our food began to arrive to our table around 9:15 so we figured we could enjoy our meal as we had roughly 40 minutes to eat. Wrong! We were reminded 2 more times! While we were eating that they close at 10:00! We felt pressured to eat in a hurry and did not enjoy our meal. To add insult to our already feeling pressured to hurry up and leave another girl came to our table at 9:45 to ask us to pay because they will be closing soon! I was so annoyed by this point that we asked for takeout boxes to take our food to go. We were advised that they would normally not allow us to take our food because we ordered from the all you can eat. Maybe if the staff would have stopped interrupting us we wouldn't have had to take our meal home! Our food was packed up and our green tea ice cream was very quickly brought to our table. I hadn't been halfway through a small scoop of ice cream when a male staff came over to our table at 9:52 to tell us they were closing. Didn't finish my ice cream and we left. All the staff were sitting in the front entrance waiting to go home!

Worst experience ever. I will never recommend this establishment. There are many more sushi places with fresh food that appreciate your business and don't treat their customers in such a rude and disregarding manner!

Sakana House, you can close at anytime you want, we will not be back. The treatment we received along with a bill of $92.00 is disgraceful. You should be ashamed to treat your customers in this manner.

Today around 9pm we walked in to eat with my friend and both our service dogs. This man in black in the picture was cooing and making kissing sounds to both our dogs (who of course ignored him as trained). But when we were seated this close, he kept looking to our dogs tucked under the table and making kissing noises still. When I asked him to please stop he got defensive and refused to admit he was doing it and when told to stop got upset. Completely rude and uncalled for and we almost walked out. Better training towards service animals needs to be given, south end location frequently sees my service dog and do great. All the other staff at north end location were very nice, but this man made us very uncomfortable with his angry face staring at us the rest of our meal.
