A group of us attended the special turf and surf dinner. The ambience was lovely, decorated for the Christmas season. The wait staff were very attentive. Unfortunately the food came to our table lukewarm and I found the striploin steak chewy. The lobster, potatoes and asparagus were good but would have been tastier if served hot. I had the creme brulee for dessert that was delicious. The off dry reisling was also very good. I will have to give the dinner a disappointing mixed review.
Last night my husband and I dined here for our first time. We had appetizers and the lobster and steak...it was all divine! The atmosphere was warm, cozy and and quiet enough to talk...Loved every minute.
We had a fantastic lunch at the winery’s restaurant. The place feels cozy, bright and relaxed. Food and service were excellent.
Our party of 4 had an exceptional dinner at Peninsula Ridge during the Surf and Turf event! The steak and lobster were superb quality we all finished our plates. The most delicious food that never disappoints. What elevated our experience was the outstanding service and attention to detail demonstrated by both Caroline and Diana. We love dining here - beautiful, intimate environment, gourmet cuisine, and wonderful friendly service. Our favourite place!!!
We had the pleasure of dining at Peninsula Ridge for a mini family reunion. It's rare that a dining experience can please every single person in a large group, but Peninsula Ridge did just that. The food was wonderful and the wines were stellar. The location is ideal and the venue is very special. We'll definitely be back.
This place is gorgeous. Their wine maker is a genius. Their staff is top-notch. Highly recommend a visit to this winery.
Compared to other winery, this place offers less amount of tasting…. little story behind each wine was told. To be the tasting experience was below average.
I recently visited the restaurant here at Peninsula Ridge and while the stunning views of the vineyard were a true highlight, the restaurant atmosphere left much to be desired. The overall vibe felt uninspired—almost reminiscent of a funeral parlour, lacking the warmth or energy I would expect from such a location.
Our meal started off strong with an incredible octopus appetizer, but unfortunately, the main dishes didn’t quite live up to expectations. The fingerling potatoes were bland and dry, and the green beans were cold and undercooked. That said, the mushroom cousette dish was excellent, and the lobster gnocchi was a decent, simple pasta—hard to mess up but nothing extraordinary.
For the price, I expected a more upscale, trendy dining experience. While it wasn’t overly expensive, the ambiance and food didn’t quite match the beautiful setting of the winery. I would recommend it for the views, but the restaurant experience could use some improvements.
My wife and I stopped by the winery on our way from Toronto to Niagara. We live in Connecticut USA. We bought a bottle of McNally Pinot Noir and a bottle of the Red Tail Cabernet Syrah. Some of the very best wines we have experienced and at a reasonable price. It would be my go to wines if we could get it here in the States.
Peninsula Ridge Estate Winery is well worth a visit. The old Victorian home and grounds give this winery a unique and historical charm. Awesome for pictures and events. The wine was very good (had a tasting) and though you're only an hour south of Toronto the atmosphere feels as if you're far our in the countryside.

Magical place. There are no pictures that can capture the feeling when you turn that corner and look up to the majestic grounds. This was a very special day for me, and this was the perfect spot to celebrate ? First time dining with both my sons and their wives, and celebrating my youngest son's and my birthday. September babies. ? Along with the amazing views, restaurant atmosphere, and great food, the Peninsula Ridge Restaurant's team was so friendly, attentive, and engaging. A wonderful evening I will always remember. ❤️
The grounds are stunning, with the restaurant situated in a beautiful century home that can't be missed atop the hill. Both my wife and I had pastas (the Risotto and Tagliatelle) that were fantasic. The McNally Pinot Noir is awesome. All in all were always happy to show off this gem to our friends and family when they come from out of town.
The place is absolutely stunning. We had an exceptional birthday dinner there. The seating outside is beautiful and cozy. Food and drinks were delicious. Will be going there again soon!
Chef Matt McDowell put together a phenomenal brunch menu. The prices were very reasonable and the Lobster Bene was made with claw meat and would rival anything found in Toronto higher end brunch bistros. The scone was absolutely incredible and the blueberry compote accompanying was delicious. I’d go back just for this scone!
The stone fruit (free-stone peach) salad was also fabulous!
I’ve been to these grounds before for weddings and it really is quite beautiful in late summer. I’m not a fan of Peninsula Ridge wines, but I would highly recommend this restaurant experience.
The staff is on point and the historic house serving as the restaurant is very classy with private patio dining nooks all around.
Well done Matt and team!
What a beautiful facility! Friendly staff. Lovely selection. Reasonable prices! We will be back for sure.
