My partner and I both agreed it was the best dinner we've had in ages. We had the Halibut and Chips dinner with an incredible raspberry cheesecake and coconut cream pie for dessert. Very fast and friendly service with a charming, small town atmosphere. We will definitely be back. It's worth the drive from Peterborough.
The service was lightning fast, extremely attentive and treated their guests like family. Portions were awesome, Peanut butter and Bacon burger was huge!
An amazing first experience that sets the bar for other places in Caygeon!
Thanks again,
Julia and your team!!!
Best batter on fish I’ve ever had.

The Original Just For The Halibut Taphouse & Grill offers a cozy atmosphere and great service. The menu features a variety of options, including fish and chips, which are highly recommended. The apps are also delicious and worth ordering. The staff is friendly and attentive, often offering desserts even when closing time is near. Parking is usually not hard to find. Kids will enjoy chicken nuggets and fries. Many guests praise the halibut, especially the pan-fried in garlic butter, which is light, flaky, and very tasty. Recent visitors from out of town enjoyed the great selection on the menu, with the Halibut and chips being perfect. The coleslaw was nice, and the service was top notch, making for a satisfying meal. Others have described the burgers as huge with sky-high toppings, absolutely delicious, and served with tasty fries in little buckets. Guests from Kitchener, Ontario, appreciated the perfect-cooked mussels in good broth, along with halibut and fries that were considered the best-cooked and battered fish ever had. Although the French fries were okay and could have been crispier, the fish was the highlight. Overall, it’s a great spot for a meal out that combines good food with friendly service.
