Pepe and Lela's Eatery Reviews
We cannot say enough about our experience at Pepe and Lela’s tonight. We almost cancelled because of the snow but thankfully we didn’t because it was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food is all house-made, authentic and absolutely delicious. Our server, Amanda was literally the best. She was friendly, engaging, funny, knowledgeable and so accommodating. It is so refreshing to go out for a meal and...read full review
Great friendly service, the lunch portioning was perfect. Amanda, our server went above and beyond, and the owner Ricardo was very accommodating. We will be back:)

Pepe and Lela's Eatery offers a lovely dining experience with fresh and flavorful food, friendly and efficient service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu features delicious dishes like Cochinita pibil, mushroom fundidos, and chicken mole. The fundidos are a must try, and the crispy fried fish tacos are a favorite. Guests have also enjoyed the Mango Jicama Salad, Cajun Crispy Sweet Potato Fries, and Arrachera Grilled Beef Tacos, although there have been occasional issues with portion sizes. The food at Pepe and Lela’s is tasty and the service is excellent — the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely make guests feel welcome. Many visitors appreciate the owner's warm engagement and the waitress's good suggestions. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with tasteful decor, creating a pleasant setting for a meal. Although portion sizes can be small and prices are on the higher side, the warmth of the staff and quality of the food make the visit worthwhile. Some guests noted that the menu is quite limited, especially for those dining with kids, and that pricing can feel a bit steep for what’s offered, with a few extra charges like a dollar for an extra tortilla. All of the margaritas are amazing, with the hibiscus being the best, and many enjoy simple options like a margarita and apps. The desserts are also highly praised, showcasing the Chef's talent. With great music and a friendly environment, this eatery is definitely worth a return visit. Known for authentic, everything made in-house, and spectacular food, Pepe and Lela’s also offers many gluten-free options. It is a must-visit when in Burlington.
